NASA Warns: 'We Better Watch Out' for China's Moon Program

Notably, the U.S. moon-landing timeline under former President Donald Trump has already lost a year under President Joe Biden – former White House press secretary Jen Psaki once mocked a question about Trump's Space Force program – and China is not slowing down.

"It's entirely possible they could catch up and surpass us, absolutely," Space Force Lt. Gen. Nina Armagno said in December. "The progress they've made has been stunning — stunningly fast."

hina's global superpower ambitions stretch out of this world, literally and figuratively, according to retired Col. Terry Virts, a former International Space Station and Space Shuttle commander.

"On one level, it is a political competition to show whose system works better," Virts told Politico. "What they really want is respect as the world's top country. They want to be the dominant power on Earth, so going to the moon is a way to show their system is working. If they beat us back to the moon it shows they are better than us."

And, he added, "There is potentially mischief China can do on the moon."

"If they set up infrastructure there they could potentially deny communications, for example. Having them there doesn't make things easier. There is real concern about Chinese meddling."

Going to Mars may be a similar story, a similar ratio of benefit to expense. Yes, it sounds impressive and fantastic, but for what, exactly, other than saying we did it first? Sending a person there would likely require learning to ‘hibernate’ for extended periods of time. The extreme isolation tank kind of experience. That person would likely be too physically weak to do very much.
And after all that, it’s a One Way trip until further notice.

So what? Let them waste money. Just because they waste money doesn’t mean we should.

Meddling? This is something we will have to deal with. We don’t own the Moon and other countries will explore it. Heck we deserted it roughly 50 years ago.

Let China go to the Moon. It’ll help deplete their GDP because there is little benefit. Too much fine grit there that gets into everything, as the USA discovered. Much better to build a space platform that will enable us to get to Mars. We will eventually mine the Moon for minerals, but we can take our time over decades. Going to the Moon will bankrupt the Chinese.

At present, the problem for all city dwelling people is not dying from covid.

There will be no serious science in China in 2023 because the place is in shambles

True. In the 1980's many people thought Japan would take the world's leadership title away from the USA. Unfortunately, Japan went into debt and they're struggling as a peoples. The same is now happening to China, going into debt with the buildout of useless cities and infrastructure while their people suffer. As you say, the place is in shambles.

“Instead of going to the moon, why don’t we secure our border?”

False dilemma. Do both.

They are past that stage and innovating on their own now. The US can’t get people back to work. Our leaders are abject fools at the behest of a stupid population. Connect the dots.

Mining the moon has little or no potential for return on investment.

Oh, yes it does! But not for things to be made and used on earth. It is the best place to start for large deep-space vehicles.

The Apollo program gave an enormous boost to our economy and technology, not to mention having something nice in the news. China will stomp our butts because Americans no longer have a will to excel, or even take math courses for that matter.

The NASA Artemis pre-landing mission just completed quite nominally. We can’t allow China to establish a “high ground” military position there. It would be the ultimate high ground — dominating the entire earth.

Bill Clinton gave all of our rocket engineering to the CCP for money to get elected for his second term.

Perhaps only through 50 years' technological advancement was a Chinese camera on the moon able to capture stars (see Chinese lunar image below)...

...when at least two sets of American Apollo eyes (both Armstrong and Collins) back in 1969 were unable to see any stars (through their glare-visored helmets, of course). It's beyond curious--and into the realm of a typical and complete Deep State hoax--that the Apollo low earth orbit faux astronauts so confessed when a lying camera would show otherwise.

Another official Apollo image shows unmistakable, undisclosed evidence of 1960s vintage cut-and-past image manipulation when high contrast gets adjusted. (Or perhaps such manipulation accidentally covered up some stars, eh?):

The image below shows two images implicitly claimed to have been taken within the time interval of less than two hours--with no costume change back at the LEM. Yet, Aldrin's PLSS suit shows multiple changes. This is accompanied by several other anomalies incompatible with the official narrative.
Bzzzzzt! fail!

Can we finally admit we were entirely defrauded by Deep State NASA with the Apollo pretend-we're-more-advanced-and-can-beat-the-Soviets-while-we-let-the-Deep-State-launder-our-money project?

"Since the USA has already been to the moon multiple times, why not set the goal to be landing on Mars, that would be a giant leap forward in space exploration comparable to the moon landings in 1969."

The current REAL US space program (Musk/Spacex) "is" already gearing up for Mars. NASA is a has-been.
