SWAT teams descended on a sleepy residential community in Pennsylvania in the early hours of Friday morning where they arrested Idaho murder suspect Bryan Kohberger more than a month after four university students were slain in their beds.
Kohberger, 28, was taken into custody by the Pennsylvania State Police at a home in Albrightsville, a small town in the heart of the Poconos Mountains more than 2,000 miles from where the gruesome killings took place on November 13.
Latah County Prosecutor Bill Thompson said investigators believe Kohberger broke into the students' home 'with the intent to commit murder.'...
Friday's arrest is the first major break in the case - with Kohberger asking if 'anyone else was arrested' when he was taken into custody. An extradition hearing is scheduled for Tuesday.
Kohberger is a registered Libertarian, although does not appear to have had any active social media profiles at the time of his arrest.
A relative told The New York Post Kohberger is 'OCD' about his eating habits and forced his family to buy new pots that had never been used to cook meat.
'It was above and beyond being vegan. His aunt and uncle had to buy new pots and pans because he would not eat from anything that had ever had meat cooked in them. He seemed very OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder)' the woman said.
During a press conference on Friday authorities confirmed that a white Hyundai Elantra was discovered in the search – with sources saying it was towed from outside Kohberger's home.
Law enforcement sources told CNN that his DNA was discovered at the scene of the crime – with officers managing to track down who owned the car seen in the area of the slayings.

I will predict that Mr. Kohberger is someone we will hear a lot from over the years. He may even get the death penalty but it will never happen. He is a perfect high profile case for ‘anti-death penalty activist’ lawyers. Hell, he knows as much or more about the system than they do. Koberger is going to produce a stream of memoirs, studies of violent criminality, psychological profiles of criminals he shares the prison with, etc, etc. There is a acse like this in Austria in which a intelligent loon like Kohberger murdered several girls went to prison for life (20 years max I think) was sprung early by an alliance of ‘progressive lawyers’ and liberal politicians and has become a highly successful (especially with young women) ‘social and legal commentator’ with a weekly column in the leading Vienna newspaper.
One thing you can bet on, as soon is back in the Potato State he will get a heavy load of mail from young women complete with nice nudie shots all of the girl’s wanting to understand
this ‘troubled young man’.

One needs to match the DNA with DNA from some database. I guess the logical assumption is once again the govt is using DNA from genealogical sites. I hope they have the right guy.

That’s my take on it as well. I don’t trust anything I hear, about anything, at this point.
Another article said the police used a public DNA database. They used it to find close relatives of the person whose DNA was found at the scene of the murders. DNA can tell if you are someone's cousin or aunt or uncle, etc.

Well, I don’t know it actually happened, but this is what is being reported. It would appear that someone in the family spoke up about these things.
I agree, if he were my nephew, I’d probably not say much either. I prefer my privacy. Their whole world is shattered now though, so maybe that would be the impetus to talk.
Most prisons abide by vegetarian standards, keeping a bread pan separate for vegetarian cooking.
Nutriloaf has all the ingredients desired by hardcore vegetarians. The rest of the prison population call it a punishment loaf.
