Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky addresses his nation every night with a speech that usually gives updates of war, whether good or bad. His delivery on Christmas Eve was more somber than upbeat. It discouraged Christmas lights and bells. He said meals aren't warm and that there may be an empty seat or two at this year's table.
Zelensky described a loss of love, hope and even himself as the war hits the 10-month mark on Christmas Eve.
"Our houses and streets can't be so bright. And Christmas bells can ring not so loudly and inspiringly. Through air raid sirens, or even worse – gunshots and explosions. And all this together can pose a bigger threat. It is a disappointment. Of the higher forces and their power, of goodness and justice in the world. Loss of hope. Loss of love. Loss of myself ..."

Yes it bothers me.
do you think our border will be protected because Russia conquers Ukraine?
Does not compute.
They obviously dominate FR. I’ve never seen such a long list of illogical arguments in my life.
One on here listed NATO as one of a long list of enemies.
I think he’s getting the message he needs to surrender as the battle is lost.
oh and those poor folks command the Russian army? How sweet.
People distribute leaflets and draw graffiti with the hashtag "this is not our war"
They have a problem with cause and effect, too. Russia invades Ukraine and to these people it’s a mystery as to why Ukraine is fighting back.
Now in another thread they’re all upset that Ukraine wants somebody to take out the Iranian arms manufacturers.
Whether or not we should do that:
1 The Ukrainian wish is understandable
2 Last time I checked Iran is our bitter enemy.
In the last few days some of them totally denied that Russia was buying weapons from Iran so why are they bothered?
A better use of the money would be to protect our own borders. Or even half the money to protect our borders.
I don’t have an obsessive need for grandiosity - to be seen as a ‘hero’ (like many of the ego maniacs living in DC seem to have) It’s possible most are being paid off - but I’m sure there are some who ‘care’.
That said, I don’t believe our involvement is well thought out. There wasn’t an effort made to sell the war - or even to allow input from citizens.
Soros is for the war - that’s not a good sign.
Citizens need to tell DC our borders matter and that we’re not fooled.
At best FBI thugs were probably told to twist a few arms, intimidate the weak, and push this war via social media. How is that different than any other 3rd world hellhole?.
Zelenhsky needs to end up in a cage at the monkey house at the Moscow city zoo...
They are switching. You know, to ‘westernize’.
