Because you are then forced to admit that the proxy war is what was wanted all along, and for that proxy war to be waged in Ukraine. A proxy war was not something that Putin wanted.
So, please spare us your crocodile tears. Soon enough you may be shedding real tears when the conflict expands to a bigger reality, and you become personally impacted.
It's a dangerous game, and all that is oblivious to you Zelenskyy cheerleaders. What you should be doing is demanding an end to this conflict. Asking Putin to withdraw is not the same thing, because he will not do that. What he will do, is what we have seen him doing, intensifying the level & frequency of attacks.
