Cassidy Hutchinson, a former aide in the Trump administration and a key witness in the House select committee hearings on the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack, said she initially lied to the panel in a deposition about whether she'd heard that President Donald Trump lunged at a Secret Service agent in the presidential SUV on the day of the riot. In her newly released depositions, Hutchinson said she was coerced by Stefan Passantino, her Trump-aligned attorney, to mislead it on how much information she knew.

She lied in the sense that she first said she had not heard about it, and later admitted she had.

Lol it still doesnt matter if Trump lunged at a driver . He was pissed and he had a right to be pissed. I still dont know why it was ever even an issue…. Much like rest of the “investigation”.

…Under the United States Code, title 18, section 1001, a person who knowingly or willingly makes a material statement that is false, or fraudulent, to the feds, is guilty of a crime.
What comes as a surprise to many is that unlike section 1621, section 1001 does not require that a person be under oath...
