Imagine if your power mad politicians liked Covid Lockdowns so much, they wanted to continue them indefinitely. This is going to be trialled in Oxfordshire in Britain.
Oxfordshire County Council Pass Climate Lockdown ‘trial’ to Begin in 2024
Oxfordshire County Council yesterday approved plans to lock residents into one of six zones to ‘save the planet’ from global warming. The latest stage in the ’15 minute city’ agenda is to place electronic gates on key roads in and out of the city, confining residents to their own neighbourhoods.
Under the new scheme if residents want to leave their zone they will need permission from the Council who gets to decide who is worthy of freedom and who isn’t. Under the new scheme residents will be allowed to leave their zone a maximum of 100 days per year, but in order to even gain this every resident will have to register their car details with the council who will then track their movements via smart cameras round the city.
Communism will make the weather better.

"Automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras will be installed to monitor vehicles going through the traffic filters. Traffic signs will identify the location of each traffic filter, including operational hours and vehicles that are exempt to travel through."
"Any vehicle that goes through the traffic filter and is not exempt, will be charged a penalty of £70."

Sounds Jim Dandy to me as I am sure your 15 minute cities are going to be economically segregated. Mine will have restaurants, cinemas, parks, and upscale living with river views. Yours will be a food dessert with an oil refinery on one side, a landfill on the other and an airport on the third.. Of course you will be allowed to ride your bike over to my 15 minute city to scrub my toilet and wash my windows. I of course will from time to time take a seat, drop the window shade and ride the train, first class car of course, over to that airport to catch a plane to the Costa del Sol.
Hopefully, the citizens’ response makes “The Troubles” look like a vicious game of pinochle.

This has to be a joke! Whatever is causing climate change/global warming/global cooling is going to be a respecter of gates? What would make more sense is to line up the council members and hold target practice...but I guess citizens don’t have access to weapons, do they? Too bad!

What happens when the government raises the gate to their
community and refuses to let them travel?
They’ll sit at home make massive payments on their dream,
and have to watch those years slip by, their equipment
suddenly worthless.
I lived in the UK in the seventies. I drove in Oxford then. Today it is much different. The traffic is unsustainable. I today parked in a lot and took a bus into Oxford and it was okay. However, the laws the local council are wanting to implement are the insane tyranny of the left.
