Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Cuban counterpart Miguel Diaz-Canel unveiled a monument in a north Moscow square on Tuesday to Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro, pledging to deepen their friendship in the face of U.S. sanctions against both countries.

But Putin evoked his memory as he told Diaz-Canel the two countries needed to build on the "solid foundation of friendship" established between Castro and Soviet leaders.
"It's a real work of art - dynamic, in motion, moving forward. It creates the image of a fighter," Putin said of the statue, which portrays Castro gazing into the distance with hands on hips.

Well, I guess we should invade. I mean what else is there
left to do?
We can kill off over 100,000, take any natural resource
asserts, and claim there are NAZIs down there.
Then we can bomb the island to a smoldering crisp, and
claim self-defense.
Wow, absolutely no one said that, except you. So you believe, there is 0% difference between criticism and war?
Should the government of the U.S. prevent any citizen of the country from criticizing anyone, because it's an act of war?
Russia is not an island.
Nick, you missed the point entirely. And the article is about Cuba...that’s an island.
Let me intercept the Putinists on this forum. Hold on. *Takes deep breath*
Fake news!!!!#$%!!@ It’s actually a statue to John Rhys-Davies to honor him for his role in LOTR and the show Sliders!!! Globo Homo Reuters Fake News BS yet again! So tiresome!
You need to read it again, it's about Russia. It's about Moscow, and how the leader of Russia erected a monument to honor Cuba's former leader, Fidel Castro. So, it takes place in Russia, about the actions of the Russian leader. So there is no reason why that article would make someone mad at Cuba. Cuba didn't do anything.
That fairy Trudeau in Canada will surely want a piece of that action....
The reality is no one would say a country should invade Russia because they put up a statue. That’s ridiculous. But it does rebuke the folks who say Putin is some kind of Christian ultraconservative. Putin says Stalin was Russia’s best leader, and puts up a statue honoring Castro. Apparently, in the United States, we are not allowed to criticize anyone anymore.
I would agree with you as long as it is limited to art.
If Russia dares say that it will defend Cuba against any
U. S. aggression, you’re up a creek without a paddle.
I skimmed it and assumed to much associated with the
comments from Putin. Granted...
It waa never about Moscow.
Cuba is Nick.
“It’s a real work of art - dynamic, in motion, moving forward. It creates the image of a fighter,” Putin said of the statue.

“So anyway, can you send me some Cuban soldiers? Like a whole bunch of them?” Putin continued...
Worked in Angola!
LOL In Grenada, not so much...
Same same...
Cuban soldiers in Angola we’re conscripts...knew a couple of them that just “walked away”.
The smart ones?
They’re not showing up.
This action of putting up a statue to honor a murderous, communist dictator is just the latest of such actions - they were having statutes of communist figures who lead the USSR erected in the areas of Ukraine they invaded.
