Now, sometimes today there is TOO MUCH affection, even between people who don’t know each other! I sort of agree with Seinfeld - I just met this person, there is too much kissing going on!
Haven’t looked into this story much, but it’s totally possible for best buds to be “all over each other”.

What you say is a possibility as well. I was merely speculating but there sure are a lot of photos of them and they appear to be ‘a couple’ and quite open about it.

Yes! I cringe every time I hear that absurd phrase, which seems to ALWAYS be applied to tragedies or near-tragedies where the “deserving it” is decidedly NOT an issue...for example, if you were mocking someone good naturedly who just mocked you, and they turned around and punched you square in the face, causing a broken nose, a concussion, etc. , you could say the victim of the punch “didn’t deserve “ it. Only if the circumstances of the four getting stabbed to death were the result of ONE of them’s bad treatment of the killer, could you say of the others that “they didn’t deserve it——if the phrase weren’t such a cliche, it might even make Madison’s bf a suspicious figure.

this is an unusual case in Idaho because its IDAHO and because if one can't be safe in the Lentil Festival town of Moscow Idaho, none of us is safe....

Perhaps the other two were 'taken out' because they awoke and responded and at that point became WITNESSES so they were taken out..
This is an incredibly difficult case but my spidey sense tells me THE MURDER WENT TO THE SCHOOL and SOMEONE or the TWO HANDSY GIRLS were TARGETED and the others were collateral damage because they became WITNESSES.
If this entire thing was RANDOM, I would not feel confident as in investigator at this point, but perhaps the murderer(s) knew this was an OPEN DOOR PARTY HOUSE and an easy mark.
