The UK has the same problem we do.
The letter after a pol’s name means bugger all anymore.
A pol is either loyal to the citizenry or to Deep State.
The vast majority if the UK’s pols, like ours, are Deep State.
Abolishing the House if Lords isn’t going to change that.
But it makes a dandy distraction.
What the UK needs is a Trump.
NOW.
Well that’s a mistake.
The one, the few, and the many is the structure that leads to stable government and preserves Liberty.
One thing often overly is that the Lords contains constitutional experts and Christian leaders (Lords Spiritual).
No ballot box process guarantees representation by either group. The job of the Lords isn’t to write law, it’s to spot bad laws.
What wrecks its raison detre is the peerage system being used for decades as a retirement home for loyal party hacks.
“Labour looks set to take power in the next election, due by January 2025, streaking far ahead of the governing Conservatives in opinion polls”
There is no great love for Labor, it’s just that the ‘Conservatives’ have made total IDIOTS of themselves by destroying the UK by trying to ‘punish Russia’. Just fuel prices alone are pushing $500 per month, per household - thanks to them (and Europe) trying to ‘teach Russia a lesson’.
Nice work, ‘Conservatives’.
