I saw a NY Post article saying 79% of those following the story believe more complete coverage would have swayed the election. Key words: Following it. Those following it would have been conservatives and maybe the liberal policy winks.

How much of the South will remain culturally southern? Suburbs of Atlanta seem to be going the way of the suburbs of Philadelphia. Virginny is no longer southern in any of the metros. Florida hasn’t been Southern north of the Big O for decades (conservative boomer migrants have been a help in the last state however).

About an hour ago, I ran into an acquaintance I hadn’t seen in a while who told me he had recently got over a very bad case of Omicron. Really sick. He’s young (early 30s), has two cute little kids. He was very healthy, normal weight, but today was certainly on the lean side and looked like he had lost a lot of weight. So Omicron isn’t always “just a cold”.

Wow, that house in Fairhope sounds like a dream! Ah, I wish I could afford one of those historic homes on the waterfront there. Or maybe not. They tend to be huge and I’ve decided small is better. Less to clean and repair, etc. Yes, I’m getting old!

It was a technical violation of arcane Campaign Finance Rules. They argued over the technicalities in court and the judge agreed with the FEC as to the interpretation. It should’ve been handled differently, which isn’t the same as claiming it was improper,
much less illegal, to have done it at all.
More to the actual point of this thread, that case has nothing to do at all with thus-far purely conjectural GOP misfeasance involving Twitter.
Riddle me this:
What are the odds that, if a GOP actor had solicited Twitter 1.0 seeking to silence opposing political Tweets, that info wouldn’t have magically “leaked” to the Press in, like, 23 seconds?
Given what we now know about the prior composition of Twitter’s Content Moderation team at that time, and their attitudes and their overt infusion of their politics into their jobs at Twitter, can you conceive of any credible scenario where anyone bearing even the faintest whiff of GOP — much less actual Conservative — political association could have pulled off what these leftist did, and had a snowball’s chance in Hell of it remaining secret?
How about you just take the easy route and admit that the probability of that having happened is indistinguishable from ZERO.
Who cares if it was only Twitter? We’re pissed that someone from Biden’s team worked in concert with Twitter. Trump’s team worked with National Enquirer. Enquirer’s parent company has excellent lawyers. Whatever was agreed to wasn’t out of being naive or being duped into a stupid agreement. But team Trump coordinated to spike a story in a tabloid that everyone going through a supermarket line would see. And add to that the coordination with major talk show hosts to amplify good things and minimize the bad. That of course soft ball questions from friendly Fox hosts on a regular basis. Of course, nothing wrong with that, right? We’re trying to create a tempest in a teapot.
This isn’t a dynamic of the left mollycoddling their people on behalf of the DNC, and Fox News mollycoddling others on behalf of the GOP.
It’s far more a case of the main line media functioning in lockstep friendliness with DNC interests, and a few media outlets like, for example, The Epoch Times, and on at least a reasonable basis Fox News, actually behaving like rational people, and making the actual attempt to get to what’s true rather than spinning questions to play hardball, or softball, or any ball at all.
Yeah, so it’s not 100% pure as the wind-driven snow, but Fox is a helluva long ways from playing patty-cake with the GOP as leftists, consistent with their puerile psyche, sneering claim.
The left would LOVE to have us all believe the media landscape is Left v Right; it’s not.
