They don’t see it that way. You’re occupying their space. You can stay there if you like, and grow the food and make the gadgets, and deliver it all to their supermarkets. But on their terms, which are not good. Don’t secede. Eject THEM from the Union like a splinter from your finger. See how they like being Mexican citizens. Oregon and Washington can go to Canada and experience socialism first hand.
Taxes and outlays are porportional. If the USA split in two then USA would only need to provide welfare etc. to half the number they used to give away tax dollars to.

The politicians are too heavily invested in the status quo to allow any kind of secession movements to threaten their careers. Just saying.
Compared to 1861-65, the current situation has almost no violence or economic destruction.

IF Texas keeps all the income tax monies collected here, social security monies collected here, etc., for all “federal” taxes collected here from Texans -— we would have enough to take care of all the legal citizen Texans’ SS, medicare, etc., in our state with money left over. Texas is a net tax dollars supplier to the fed gov which then sends Texas dollars to the blue states that depend on our workers and our tax money to keep them afloat.
The socialist communist marxist Democrats at fed gov will fight to keep Texas because they need our milk and honey to survive, and they know it!!!

I think maybe our best hope might be our county sheriffs. Some are terrible (Maricopa Co. Sheriff). But some are very good. They have the authority to deputize citizens.
None of them made a fuss when ordered to set up an armed camp around the capitol to protect a usurper.
Why should we secede and let the commies have any of the beautiful land our people built? They hate it anyway. I say we kick them out like we did the Tories in 1783.
