I haven’t seen leadership like this in a long time.

Well, let's multiply one successful state, Florida, by 50.

Me neither. It's way past time. Parents and conservatives have been pussy-footing around the issue for years now, while giving the benefit of the doubt to school administrators who are hell-bent on harming the children. After the school superintendents and other upper-office personnel are gone, and they hire competent leaders, they can start on the teachers. Contracts can fail to be renewed and the word can go out that decent, sane, and competent teachers should apply. Retired military can take precedent.

Bold, decisive… going toe to to with Disney. He didn’t talk about draining the swamp, he is. He is going the extra mile to pull the leeches off while he is in there.
I detest flat land and boring ocean views… but he might be creating a lil piece of Plymouth Rock.

School administration has for too long been the last refuge of tyrants and despots.

This is great.
But I still recommend homeschooling over the public schools.
Was talking to a parent over the holiday weekend about I witnessed him telling his son to “be a man” and shake my hand accordingly. The dad told me that the law DeSantis signed prohibiting “gender discussions” (if that is even the proper term) only applies up to Grade Three.
So starting in Grade Four the students can be exposed to some level of explicit sexual information? The parents of public school students have a lot of work left to do.

>>Mullins’ exit also prompted Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey to announce an unspecified crackdown on misbehavior in schools earlier this week.
Does anyone know if Florida school systems can have their own police forces?
They can here in GA, and my perception is that this is used to sweep stuff under the rug.

We do not. All school districts have an SRO program, which is staffed by the Sheriff’s Office or local municipal department, but there are no independent school district police forces that I am aware of.

Cartright had not even been there a year, and was working to fix things that had not been addressed after Parkland. There is a much bigger problem in Broward county,
