I used to donate blood regularly — O Negative. The last time I gave, it hurt like hell.
Defund FDA. Replace with many scientifically educated citizen panels. Give advice, but not binding.
Defund CDC. Make them track contagious diseases only, and give some,but not binding, advice.

King County (Seattle) has allowed homosexual men to donate blood for more than five years.
No doubt there are restrictions, but there is no way to stop someone who lies about his risk factors.
I was a blood donor for forty years.
Before gay men were approved, I already had some concerns about the sterile protocols used during donations.
However, since most donors then were not in high risk groups, I put my sterile concerns aside and continued to donate.
When gay men were approved, that was one full step too far for me, and I have never gone back.
How would the blood banks and hospitals even know the truth?

I think the half dozen gay men in monogamous relationships might get tired of those calls from the blood bank.
Also Paul Gann (1912-1989) of Proposition 13 fame (along with Howard Jarvis) died of AIDS contracted from a blood transfusion.
But, you do not get YOUR blood...it just goes into the “bank”...I am told.
