Despite this crushing victory, Obama headed into his second term in office without a majority in the US House. House Republicans lost the popular vote by 1% but still won a 234-201 majority in the chamber. This outcome did not surprise shrewd political observers—Republicans held a considerable structural advantage in the US House throughout the 2010s. In fact, according to FairVote, Republicans would expect to win a 241-194 majority in a tied national House popular vote. This means that by only winning 50% of the vote, Republicans were assured a crushing majority in the US House.

Here’s the problem exit polls show the republicans lost the 18-35 crowd by around 25 points enough to swing many close districts the gop should have won. Donald Trump had little to do with that as the GOP targeted crime and the economy two things people those age could care less about as most live with their parents.
The issues those people care about are abortion, student loan forgiveness, and the climate change hoax. The RNC literally had no message targeting young voters. They need to get on Tik Tok Chinese government be damned, the need to go after colleges for tuition rates, the need to get a coherent message on abortion. They can win on these issues it’s just do they really want to?

Republicans had no message other than Grahams ban abortion. It worked like they wanted to. Them taking the house means nothing. It will the McIdiot Republican leaders doing nothing.
