The District is still stuck in a pandemic funk. Most days, the city, especially the core downtown blocks around the White House, looks more like a ghost town than a vibrant capital city. Before the coronavirus shutdown, visitors to Washington were often in awe of how many cranes punctuated the skyline. Now, it’s hard to find a building without a “for rent” sign. Coffee shops and restaurants are serving limited hours, if they’re open at all.
Hopes were high for a revival this fall. Schools reopened. Covid cases were way down. Businesses were calling their employees back. But the city has remained at about 45 percent of workers back in the office since Labor Day. That’s worse than New York, Chicago, Houston and the national average for major cities, according to data from the security firm Kastle Systems.

I agree - you could not pay me to visit now. I was thinking of going to the annual March for Life... but not to visit the capital, just for fellowship with fellow Christians and to stand-up for the least of these.

Way to wait until the 3rd from the last paragraph to mention crime.
Then they lie about it “And violent crime, while still too high, is beginning to come down.”
Topping it all off is the atrocious grammar. I’m a machinist with a 2 year education and even I know you don’t start a sentence with “And”.
Repeal Home Rule! (of 1973)
Take away the vote...
Burn the city again...
Bring back the Commissioner...
It was a fine city before 1964...
A 1 MT explosion would help, assuming it’s a Tuesday and Congress is in session. About 10:00 am.

Probably, like cockroaches, the swamp creatures would survive.

It's TIME to DownSize DC!
Restore the Constitution!Size DC!
Bump for later
The first step should be to stop implementing policies and electing leaders endorsed by the Washington Post.
“I’m heading to DC tomorrow.”
While one cannot concealed carry in that area, a Bowie knife or a K-bar on ones person may help with any stress one may have whilst walking among the local savages ...
The District is still stuck in a pandemic funk. What killed DC was the rioters. Buildings all over downtown were boarded up for over a year. So many of those spaces are now empty. Also, in the stupid attempt to fake a crisis, a huge area around the Capitol was fenced off and parking was not permitted across the entire downtown area. Areas that were not shut down by rioters or the government itself are doing fine.
Thinking about it more, it was the fake Jan 6 “crisis” as much as the rioters. And both events were manufactured by the local and Federal governments.
People are just afraid to visit. To do so could get you locked up for years without bail and without charges.
There are buildings still boarded up from the riots when Pres. Trump was inaugurated. The WuFlu lockdowns just sped up the decay.
