Donald Trump Responds to Kanye West ‘Screaming Dinner’ Controversy

Donald Trump has responded to the public controversy over rap superstar Kanye West attending a dinner with him in Mar-a-Lago and bringing along known anti-Semite and ‘groyper’ leader Nick Fuentes.

According to West, after Ye asked Trump if he would run with him on the same ticket, the former president “started screaming” at him. Trump told Ye would lose if he ran for president.

Ye met with Trump on Wednesday, saying in a tweet: “First time at Mar-a-Lago Rain and traffic Can’t believe I kept President Trump waiting And I had on jeans Yikes What you guys think his response was when I asked him to be my running mate in 2024?”

In a video released on Twitter, Ye says that Trump was “perturbed” by his offer, which he noted was “lower on the list of things that caught him off guard.”

West later said in the video that during dinner, “Trump started basically screaming at me at the table telling me I was going to lose,” adding, “I mean has that ever worked for anyone in history?”

Ye added, “I’m like whoa hold on, hold on, hold on. You’re talking to Ye.”

Donald Trump took to Truth Social to set the record straight.

“This past week, Kanye West called me to have dinner at Mar-a-Lago,” Trump said. “Shortly thereafter, he unexpectedly showed up with three of his friends, whom I knew nothing about. We had dinner on Tuesday evening with many members present on the back patio. The dinner was quick and uneventful. They then left for the airport.”

“Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, was asking me for advice concerning some of his difficulties, in particular having to do with his business,” he added. “We also discussed, to a lesser extent, politics, where I told him he should definitely not run for President, ‘any voters you may have should vote for TRUMP.’ Anyway, we got along great, he expressed no anti-Semitism, & I appreciated all of the nice things he said about me on ‘Tucker Carlson.’ Why wouldn’t I agree to meet? Also, I didn’t know Nick Fuentes.”

Thus, the media’s narrative runs up against a problem: If Trump did know Fuentes, why would he invite him to Mar-a-Lago knowing the media would find out about it, and then subsequently disavow that he knew him?

It seems like it was the sort of thing Trump was doing before he got into politics — meeting other celebrities and being celebrities with them. Trump probably appreciated Ye’s support when he had it, but maybe they weren’t all that close.

The whole matter is lame. That he’d even have dinner with any of them is questionable if he wants to be credible, serious candidate. At the end of the day, he can meet or eat with anyone he wants, stupid. I am more bothered with his response afterward—saying he didn’t know them. First, did he not ask? Does he not have competent staff? It does seem that Trump spends more time with damage control than being proactive. That is a losing approach, and part of why I do not support him for 2024 but if he is candidate, I will vote for him.

Spin this however you want to. However, a brave leader, a brave statesman, is not AFRAID to speak to anyone.

A scheming, self-centered politician, on the other hand, will not speak to many people just because he is afraid of how it makes him look!

Well now, Trump refused to debate Biden a second time and ignored a subpoena from the 1/6 committee. He definitely calculates when and when not to talk to people.

OK, I'll buy that, however, in general, you will not find a leader who is more willing to talk to anyone at anytime then Donald J. Trump.

That is, if you are being honest about this situation.

President Trump is no Politician, he is a Leader and a Statesman though.
