And I'm pretty sure that the USAAF Women's Air Service Pilots will be surprised to hear that they were just PR, as well as women Israeli soldiers.

Personally, I believe this is a great idea. However, there are some issues that need to be addressed.
Without a doubt, these drones have changed the battlefield. A small drone with a shape charge bomblet can take out armored vehicles. Fox holes and trenches are subject to drone attacks.
Here's a couple issues:
Drone pilots are clearly combatants and legitimate targets. As combatants, they should officially join the military and wear a uniform.
Most of the drones have limited range. The drone pilots will have to "work" near the FLOT and could come under attack at any time.
