There are very few hospitalized cases due to covid. I am not testing as I have little reason. The few that are positive are typical omicron with GI symptoms and URI not LRI. When I have a + it was incidental
About half are vaccinated. Half are not. Clearly the omicron variant vaccine is marginal. Probably helpful to the frail elderly who are at risk and those with less than robust immune systems. But the disease in its current state is so mild I don’t even think there is a need for vaccination.
What I do know is that because influenza hasn’t been circulated for a couple years (no covid was not influenza — influenza could not be spread under the isolation conditions that were adhered to with covid. Airborne precautions will universally stop droplet disease) influenza is kicking some peoples ass. RSV is circulating as well as rhinovirus and a lesser extend adeno. So disease severity is worse because there has not been immunological priming the last couple years.
But covid is hardly anything at the moment. It is settled back to what is was before. A bad cold.
Thank you for your answer.
