So there’s a Taiwanese factory in mainland China? That’s news to me! Who’s running it?
Strangely belive it but there are many Taiwanese factories in China.
Foxconn is perhaps the largest and is opening factories in the USA.
Who’s running it?
—
Per Emperor Xi Jinping edict: The CCP manages all businesses in China.
The Taiwanese hire local Chinese managers, but there is a lot of movement between Taiwan and China as well.
Companies like Foxconn, Compal, Pegatron, Wistron, Quanta, etc, have moved up the food chain to do design work in Taiwan with the manufacturing moved to China, where labor is more available and cheaper. The US company they design and manufacture products for does the graphics for the box it’s packaged in.
These companies also have industrial engineering expertise in how to build and equip factories for manufacturing in China. This is as important as expertise in product design.
Former KMT Taiwanese tend to speak Mandarin, and they often have family in China to provide connections.
