The World Health Organization and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced on Wednesday that measles is rapidly spreading in multiple regions across the world.
They agencies blamed the resurgence of measles on a decrease in childhood vaccination during COVID-19 and less monitoring of the illness, Reuters reported.
Measles is considered extremely contagious and only preventable among a population if there is a 95 percent vaccination rate.
There were around 40 million children who did not get a measles vaccine in 2021 because of increased difficulties in accessing medical treatments during COVID, the WHO and the CDC said in a joint statement.
The agencies warned that action needs to be taken immediately to prevent a global problem.
It is assumed that multiple factors have kept measles rates from increasing to historic levels, including the continuation of social distancing and the cycling nature of the disease.

Unfortunately, WHO and the CDC have ruined their own reputations during Covid and now bear the burden of sounding like they are crying wolf. That is their own fault, not the public’s.
Measles has been with us for centuries. It wasn’t invented in a lab. People know what to do.

I didn't, years ago, but knowing how agenda-led it is and how it perpetuates lies, I just use it to validate something I already suspected or to get numbers.

Yeah, we've seen what that was like before. Your COVID actions are contributing to the measles outbreak. What will your measles actions contribute to? More ebola?
I’m quite sure I got measles when I was a kid. Big deal. Got a few days off from school.
I have ZERO faith in either the CDC, FDA, or the WHO. If they told me water was wet, I’d make them PROVE IT THREE DIFFERENT WAYS and then I would still think they were FOS.
I routinely ask my Doctor “is the CDC recommending this, if so, forget it...”
Break out the masks, social distancing, close everything down, two weeks to slow the spread, well, maybe another two weeks to flatten the curve, mRNA shots and boosters, yep, that’s the trusted science way of doing it.

Lots of children missed their normal childhood series of vaccinations during the COVID pandemic. Even before COVID, some countries like Ukraine had large outbreaks of Measles. I refused to let my wife take our son to Ukraine til he had his first Measles vaccination due to more than 50K cases in 2019.
So vaccinate. It’s standard. BFD.
