Colorado Springs, Colo., Mayor John Suthers (R) on Monday said a mass shooting at an LGBTQ nightclub in his city over the weekend “has all the trappings” of a hate crime.
“The motive is still under investigation,” Suthers said during an appearance on NBC’s “Today.”
“It has all the trappings of a hate crime, but we need to look at social media, we need to look at all kinds of other information that we’re gathering from people that knew the individual before we make any definitive conclusions about a motivation,” Suthers added. “But it certainly as I say has the trappings of a hate crime.”
Authorities said 22-year-old Anderson Lee Aldrich entered Club Q late on Saturday night and immediately began shooting, killing five and injuring 25 others before multiple clubgoers confronted him and stopped him

weird, because considering that this is already out of the news cycle for the most part and they haven’t plastered the perps racist face all over the news cycle over and over and over ad nauseum, it kind of tells me that perhaps he was a card carrying member of the “community” that frequented the entertainment complex he shot up.
This morning on GMA on ABC, he was wearing this really nice purple tie.
What tie was he wearing last night?
Does that mean anything?
I will say his tie knot was perfect. I notice a lot of politicians have sloppy and or loose tie knots. This interest in knots is from old school Boy Scouts.

Oh definitely. His grandfather sounds like a piece of work. scary individual. He probably was molesting his grandson.

When 1st degree murder just isn’t bad enough, we have to spice it up with a “hate crime” label.

I am glad that the patrons tackled the shooter and prevented more deaths and injuries.

It may well be a hate crime. Our country has been overrun by people who embrace hate. Our politics are run by people who espouse hate. Our children are taught that hate is a good thing, so long as they hate the “correct” people.
Now we will be told that “anti-gay” or “anti-trans” rhetoric fueled the shooter.
But what if the shooter is fueled by the “anti-norm” rhetoric of the left? What if all of the videos of violence, the hateful speech on twitter and elsewhere, they constant drumbeat of “if you don’t support ‘X’ you are evil and should be attacked” language didn’t scare this gunman into lashing out?
Or, we could figure out what we are doing that makes people in general think that shooting cops, or shooting “the other side”, or “punching a nazi”, or pushing a person in front of a train, is an acceptable act in a civilized society.
We watched this weekend as a group of mostly left-leaning liberal women tried to fight for their rights, only to be physically and verbally attacked by other social justice warriors. They clearly think violence is the solution to their problems, and THAT is what empowers people to commit violence.
Should we not be blaming public schools for all these shootings? Isn’t it clear that most of these shooters are products of the failed government school system?
It is overused, and judging severity of a crime based on emotion makes our system subjective.
But the concept is clear enough. What is the “motive” for a crime. If your motive is “I want to punish that person for something they did to me”, we call that “revenge”. If it is “I want to take things that person has, and I might have to commit violence against them to do so”, the motive is robbery/theft”.
If the motive is “I hate what those people are, and want to make them suffer”, that is a crime of hate for a group”, what we call a “hate crime”.
But again, a person who crashes a car and kills another person because they are drunk, or because they were texting and driving, or because they wanted to run into some random car — they are the same crime, and should have the same punishment.
... Me thinks the dude was hard wired wrong from the factory. Simply put he was defective from day 1.

Turned out even the Matthew Shepard’s ‘hate crime’ was fake. He was murdered by a former gay lover.
These folks live for the pity party... as soon as this mass murder can’t be pinned on traditional Americans it will STOP BEING A STORY. NO PITY PARTY - NO REPORTING. (pity parties are only for the select few: liberal elites, their pets, and their sexual weirdos...)
If a hundred conservatives were shot at a music festival in Las Vegas - the largest mass shooting in our nation’s history - the event would be forgotten. People would say, ‘what shooting - I don’t remember that’...
