On a visit to Kherson, I see why the Ukrainians will win — with our support
The New York Post ^ | November 18, 2022 | Douglas Murray

Russia is going to lose this war. And Ukraine is going to win it. How can I say that with confidence? Because yesterday I was in the city of Kherson and saw Russia’s defeat with my own eyes.

Kherson is part of the south of Ukraine that was invaded and occupied in March this year. In September it was one of the four regions which the Kremlin gave a “vote” to in order to pretend that the regions really wanted to be part of Russia, not Ukraine. These “plebiscites” were meant to validate the occupier. But the whole thing was a sham, with results not seen since Saddam Hussein held “elections” in which he regularly received over 100% of the vote.

The Kremlin thought it was playing a clever game in “making official” its gobbling up these vast regions. But all the time Ukraine — backed by military provisions sent from the West — fought a far cleverer and braver war.

In recent days the consequences have been paying off. Last week the Ukrainians managed to take back the city of Kherson and much of the surrounding region. And they did it with barely a fight. So swift was the Ukrainian advance that many Russian soldiers didn’t even get the memo that they were meant to have fled the city.

The Russians are probably going to launch a winter offensive.

This is dumb because the Russians have been planning "offensives" and claiming they've been carrying them out for some time, and they HAVE tried, bigly, but have failed to take any meaningful territory or victories since July other than maybe a village here or there that they lose the following week.

A similar narrative was playing out in Bakhmut for at least the past month, with Putinists on this very website pointing to Bakhmut and Russia's imminent conquest of that town as proof that Ukraine's offensives were soon to be reversed.

Naturally this did not occur because it is a bunch of horeshit, even though Russians have apparently and verifiably launched huge amounts of attacks on that little town attempting to gain ANY territory--but all have failed.

Now the new narrative is that Russia, which can't even supply its conscripts with winter clothing (they have to buy them themselves), will launch a major offensive in the winter!

This will go the same way all other announcements of major offensive will go: false promises, pitiful attempts followed by defeats, and then the whole thing will be memory holed, and we will be told that Russia is planning a massive Spring offensive (rinse and repeat).

Russia will take the land it intends to hold…eventually
And no one knows what that will be.
Esp our so-called intel experts in DC and London filling the media with misinfo and disinfo

Patience and perseverance are historic traits Russia has shown
The long game,

What’s new here in this SMO is the effort to spare civilians and avoid unnecessary military troop losses ( though we did see some aspects of this in Syria)

RUS values regarding civilians and their own troops ( to some extent the Ukes who are often given opportunities to surrender, but difficult to do with Uke nazi barrier units to shoot Ukes that try to retreat or surrender)…to not sacrifice civilians or troops, unnecessarily

RUS are 180 degrees opposite of their opponent regime we are supporting in Kiev

Not all the US taxpayer money going to Ukraine goes to kickbacks to FTX, going to Uniparty wins over Conservatives patriots in the midterms. Some of the money does apparently make it to purchasing the best in clothing and outfits for war images and imaging.

"War images and imaging"-- Meanwhile, the allegedly tik tok army of Ukraine has killed countless numbers of Russkies and taken 50% of their territory back--proving the stupidity of Putinists who continue to deny the reality of Ukrainian military power.

I'll also add, the FTX stuff is a bunch of brain dead, retarded BS put out by shithole websites that only really dumb conspiracy theorists can believe.

Quite frankly, I'm embarrassed to be associated with you lot. I have to tell people I'm an independent conservative so they don't confuse me with the Q-tards and Putinist freaks who are making up a very loud minority of the party now.

I can't believe you weirdos still make these statements even as Russia is bombing critical infrastructure for the stated purpose of freezing the civilian population to death.

You can say anything.
You may actually believe it.

But still not true.

No attempt to explain your pals abandoning their wounded comrades and dead as they run away?

Nothing to say about such cowardly action?

Cat got your tongue?

“Aggressively attack invaders”
Yes of course, which is why I have stockpiled guns and ammo.
I won’t be begging the EU to launder crypto thru my government while pretending to be resupplied by them.

This is in Europe’s backyard, let them handle it. Why is the USA always expected to do the heavy lifting?

LOL! As if you explaining your political proclivities to anyone would make a lick of sense. Incidentally, how many branches of conservativism does your independent conservativism make? I'm guessing about three dozen.

Why has Kiev been destroying civilian infrastructure in Donbass and Crimea for 8 years?

Notice Russia is targeting the support infrastructure but not homes, schools, hospitals. As compared to what Kiev did and has been doing in Crimea since 2013, and Donbass since 2014, Civilians in Kiev and western Ukraine need to stop night-clubbing and nazi-saluting their nationalist forces and understand the consequences of continuing war without settlement. The only option their bellicose nationalist leader broadcasts is a fight to capitulation of one side. In that kind of war, the lights heat water and internet do not stay on. Of course civilians can relocate, At least they are alive.

When the US goes in, we take those out immediately…not 9 months later
Think Baghdad and Libya

From deplorables to freaks... okay, sure.

Ukrainians have to get up in the middle of the night to shower and do laundry. Ukrainians officials are urging citizens to leave because of the limited capacity of the electric grid.

Russia can bomb anywhere it wants because Ukraine's air defense is incapable of stopping it.

Anyone believing Ukraine is winning is a moron. But, no one should doubt, Timber, you are a moron.

pdate on Russian military operations in Ukraine for November 21, 2022

- Russian makes incremental gains in the Donbass region; - Ukraine’s power grid continues to degrade under Russian missile and drone strikes;
- Ukraine continues denying responsibility for missile strike in Poland;
- US claims NASAMS air defense systems performed at 100% effectiveness, provide no numbers or proof of this claim; - There are not enough NASAMS arriving in Ukraine over the next several years to protect Ukraine from further Russian missile and drone salvos;
- Ukraine has more or less abandoned Kherson city;
- US DoD admits Ukraine cannot achieve its main objective of expelling Russia;
- Failure to achieve Ukraine’s objective while continuing to fight and lose men and equipment equates to demilitarization;
