Not for nothing, but Rick Scott put up, what I would call, a very feeble attempt to take on McConnell. First he put out a GOP agenda, without any real visible support from his Senate colleagues, then he implied he would take on McConnell, then he said he supported McConnell, then within 24 hrs he said he would challenge McConnell. Sounds like he didn’t mount much of a public campaign to force undecideds to go his way, and at the same time, he didn’t appear to engage in much private campaigning inside the ‘Club’. All he needed was another 15 votes, but in the age of ‘Big Money’ it looks like 80% of the Senate Republicans are already bought and paid for by the ‘Big Money’ donors.
Agree 100%. The GOPe allows the facade of competition to mollify the base. And that agenda Scott put out? What's with their desire to "fix" my social security? Stupid stuff put forward at the absolute wrong time.
