In many of these states what should be is not what is

When I see things like this, I know what is going on. I have manned phone banks to get out the vote in favor of a particular party. I was given a list of people who have registered for one political party, or donated to a candidate for that party based on State roles that the party has paid for.

“.....”We get a list, and we go to each address, we knock, and if the voter doesn’t answer, then we call them,” ......”

That list that the culinary works is using is not just all people who need to cure their ballots, it is a list of people who one party believes will be aligned with their candidate and can use extra votes.

I wouldn’t say that this is cheating, but it does require someone else to fund a vote cure in the opposite direction. Yes this is a form of ballot harvesting and swaying an election. It may not be illegal, but it is a way to suppress certain votes from counting, while helping others count. Voter suppression always seems to be something Democrats accuse Republicans of, even when Democrats are more into voter suppression.

I spoke to a state senate candidate in Maine a couple of days after the election, he is a Republican and of course he lost.
I worked the election as a clerk and was told that the absentee ballots were three times the usual amount.

I asked him why the Republican Party of Maine has not been more aggressive in doing the same thing. His response:
“The Maine Republican Party wants its voters to go to the polls.” It is time as many have pointed out here, is to keep up with the times. People shop on-line and vote absentee. To ignore these changes is to be a minority party forever (or at least until the election laws are changes which will not happen in blue states).

As an aside, in 1976, I took absentee ballots to a dozen Republican voters who were infirmed and could not vote in person. Given the election laws, we need to do the same.
As pointed out in the article, calling voters up and telling them they made a mistake on the absentee ballot and they need to correct it is legal. So Republicans need to do the same.

That is when the signature on the absentee ballot should be checked with the signature on the voter rolls.

Are you sure about that? If someone tells me I did not sign my absentee ballot before I submit it or mail it in, I can certainly sign it and then mail it or drop it off at the polling station, city hall etc.

Correct. In Arizona, the McCainiacs still hold a grudge against the MAGA supporters and would rather see left-wing Democrats win than a Trump supporter. I saw that as far back as 1964 with the Rockerfeller supporters abandoning Barry Goldwater.

Forget all the jive posted here. This is illiterate Hispanics being paid to ferret out the votes from other pre- Columbian illiterate Hispanics. Who happen to be US citizens.

It’s 2022, the Republicans think it’s 1980 and they are running against Jimmy Carter, the Democrats play for keeps, you either match them or go extinct and lose the country in the process

Somehow Nevada elected a Republican as Governor, will he attempt to clean up the voting system or is he paid off by the Unions and others to go along and not rock the system, I suspect it will be the later, a guy who was allowed to win the only way a Republican can in that state, not go after the big issues but do the bidding of the machine.
