“A gas-powered car fire takes somewhere between 750 and 1,000 gallons of water to put out. An EV fire can take 8,000 gallons to extinguish.”

push um in a lake, pond, drainage ditch full of water...
it’s the only way if you don’t have a large container full of water.

Battery packs need some sort of thermal runaway self extinguishing feature.

Then the EPA would drag them to court.
No win situation.

If allowed to burn the EV will be completely destroyed.
Why not bring in a front loader and drop a bunch of dirt on the car to smother the fire?

I think the Brits have taken to heaving the burning cars into water-filled dumpsters. Presumably they have said mobile water tank ready to roll out at all times.
I suppose a garbage truck could be modified a bit to serve as an EV scoop-and-dunk vehicle.

That shit ass Tesla trying to burn down the house. There must be loads of toxic fumes coming off this, to poison the firefighters.

Some fire departments do just that with portable dunk tanks. Here is a Dutch FD dropping a BMW into the tank.
Does the insurance company pay out for fire damage or flood damage?

EV’s (like windmills) are a bastard child, formed by cheap money, big government, and ideological fantasy
The contradictions will become very obvious soon.

The video showed a company experimenting with dropping a big tarp over burning EVs.

More water to put out EV fires.
They don’t serve water in many restaurants (and companies advertise dishwashers that use less water) because it helps save the planet to avoid using water. Also water for cattle to let them live long enough to provide beef when slaughtered.

Gas-powered car fire: 1,500 degrees F, once out it’s out.
EV fire: 5,900 degrees, can reignite multiple times and up to days later.

better yet harness the heat and generate electricity with it to charge the cars that are not on fire yet
