A governor has power and authority to make changes to election law.
A POTUS does not.
If ever conservatives were to hold legislative and executive branches in DC, some changes could be made to Fed election law that states would have to adhere to
For instance, in elections with Federal races all results mist be reported by 6 a.m. the day after Election Day. Then it’s up to the states how to run the election to comply with that.
