Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), a close ally of former President Trump, says Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) should stay on as governor amid rumors that he could challenge Trump for the GOP nomination in 2024.
Greene did not directly mention DeSantis’s potential interest in a 2024 run in a Twitter thread on Friday but said that losing a “strong Republican governor” early because political consultants are urging them to run for president hurts the country because it leaves their states weak and vulnerable to poor leadership or Democratic control.

You talk about facts, but post suppositions. You THINK maybe McConnell is talking to DeSantis, but you have nothing to back that up. Maybe he is, maybe he isn’t. I’m not inclined to assume.
As far as Trump’s schoolyard name calling on Monday, I already addressed why I think DeSantis ignored it - he was in the last days of his campaign and was focused on pulling as many across the line with him as possible. After that, he had a real job to do, getting the state prepared to deal with Nicole. Appeasing Trump probably was not at the top of his list. And at this point, with Trump attacking him, I can’t see why DeSantis would endorse Trump even if he is not running himself.

My suspicion of McDonnell talking to DeSantis is supposition, and was clearly described as such.

Their world has changed a lot! Trump is attacking, becoming unpopular and possibly indicted while Desantis just throttled a swing state in a landslide and is exponentially growing in popularity.
DeSantis is already termed out after this one, so I certainly hope he will be replaced by a conservative. You think Trump has something on DeSantis that would force him from office? If so, I think you are delusional. If Trump had something that negative on DeSantis and Trump is taking credit for DeSantis being elected, then that would seem to make Trump either stupid or corrupt.
