Donald Trump has stepped up his attacks on Republicans and potential 2024 presidential election rivals by saying Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin couldn't have won without his support.
The former president wrote on Friday morning that 'Young Kin' is a name that 'sounds Chinese' and that he helped him get the 'MAGA vote' in his victory over Democrat Terry McAuliffe in November 2021.
It comes after Trump laid into Ron DeSantis by calling him 'average' and claimed that he sent in the FBI to 'stop ballot theft' when he won the Florida Governor race in 2018.
'Young Kin (now that’s an interesting take. Sounds Chinese, doesn’t it?) in Virginia couldn’t have won without me,' he posted on Truth Social.
'I Endorsed him, did a very big Trump Rally for him telephonically, got MAGA to Vote for him - or he couldn’t have come close to winning. But he knows that, and admits it. Besides, having a hard time with the Dems in Virginia - But he’ll get it done!'

I know you won't see it this way, but Mike Pence is the perfect example whose face conformed to the outline of Trump's but for 4 years. The most loyal showing I have ever witnessed in politics in my life. But in the end, Mike Pense "was never really loyal". Right, check.

I have no clue what the media cabal is saying.(though not hard to imagine) I’m reacting to Trump’s comments.
I do hear how callers on radio and commenters on FR and elsewhere have reacted and its not good.
The wheels are going to come off and people will be desperate for a political savior. We know this because this is all being orchestrated to happen. The people doing this to us and Europe need our politicians to keep a lid on it and tow the line.
I never thought Pence was loyal and now it's public. You might have been loyal to Trump but now you are the enemy of Trump so your loyalty meant nothing.

Sorry. I’m not into 3-D chess or adoration, or reverence, or idol worship. I only care about the truth and reality. Trumps Chinese comments were about Youngkin’s ties to China. Would I have said it— no way. I don’t have the guts to be so bold. You think this is based on idol worship which would be insulting if I cared what anyone thought. I have one God I worship snd it will never be Trump or any other human. You make the mistake of thinking that I don’t know some of these people. Silly rabbit.

I take that as a compliment. Yes, FR was here before Trump and will be here after Trump. Trump is part of our history but less and less part of our future.
FR is so binary now though. We've had huge battles now on the 2020 election, vaccines, Ukraine War, and Trump with little real civil discourse. Usually it is like the culture wars, you get cancelled if you don't publicly articulate a particular viewpoint regardless of how you actually think on the subject. A certain kind of conformity seems demanded, but I think it is turning the corner now as we move away from the mid-terms towards the big dance.
Even our election coverage here was not good this go around. I'm fearful that we have turned away some really good folks that know how to read between the seams of districts and which ballots are outstanding and who have people they can text to get real info. At this point I don't even know how the election turned out or is going to turn out. It's a black hole and that is a new thing for FR whereas in the past I would do my reading here to inform me of what was going on.
I’m not interested in fact-checking posts, but Youngkin was in fact being flattered re 2024, and he didn’t seem to mind.
I have no issue with Fu Youngkin — I actually like the guy.
I think the other Conservatives, as you call them, are attacking Trump.
I understand his point—but I don’t any attention to what somebody else says President Trump said.
I only pay attention to exactly what President Trump said.
There is just no way to spin the last couple of days.
President Trump is treating DeSantis and Youngkin like trash.
That is totally undeserved—totally inappropriate—and frankly totally demoralizing to Republicans.

Either it’s a game DeSantis and Trump are playing together, or the establishment is making shady deals with DeSantis in an attempt to take down Trump/MAGA(Trump knows what’s going on). If it turns out DeSantis is working with the establishment, he’s a sell out and will become my enemy. I don’t want anymore disloyal sell out republicans in power. This is it. I'm too old to care if Trump thinks I am an "enemy" of his. I'm nothing anyway and even so there still is no way of escaping his fundraising emails. "are you with me", "did I lose you", "exclusive xyz club". I checked out of that when he started raising money to fight the election results in 2020.
BTW, is Trump loyal to me? Should not that be asked by people? Did I leave Trump or did Trump leave me? I would say that Trump tugged me out of my zone into areas I was uncomfortable with but tolerant of. But in the end these non-sense tweets and attacks and stupid actions ultimately prove themselves out, and like I said I'm back to calling stupid stupid instead of "brilliant!!!".
You can read back my history and find I was done when Georgia 2020 happened. Taht was the cherry on top of stupidity and we have paid dearly these last two years.
How can he be going after him when it sounds like he is encouraging him?
