Trump goes nuclear on 'average' Gov. DeSantis in fiery screed
Washington examiner ^ | Brady knox

Posted on 11/10/2022 5:25:52 PM PST by NoLibZone

Former President Donald Trump unleashed a fiery screed Thursday evening critical of Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), who triumphed in his reelection campaign this week and is increasingly seen as a strong candidate to challenge Trump for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.

Read what I actually said again. I CLEARLY said his public outburst is completely wrong, but his rage at what is happening is entirely justified. TWO DIFFERENT THINGS. I don’t know how I could have made that clearer.

Trump should have met privately with the Republican establishment and ripped them several new orifices for trying to cut him out of the 2024 presidential campaign, which they are so blatantly doing. He’s also reacting to the frenzy of attempts to blame him for the underwhelming midterm performance, which is just absurd.

“ Desanctimonius is no friendly. Seems like he’s got you fooled…”
*****************************************************************

Seriously, what has he done that is UNFRIENDLY to American patriots? What am I overlooking? Or do you dislike him simply because Trump delivered a few SUCKER PUNCHES to him?

Tell me… enlighten me.

Desanctimonius is no friendly. Seems like he’s got you fooled. He’s very obvious letting the media and the GOPe do his dirty work. Scummy.

Not quite.

The truth is that Trump's mouth has made him so many enemies that DeSantis doesn't have to encourage anything. He could be saying absolutely nothing behind the scenes, and all of these exact same criticisms would be happening anyway because none of these people like Trump for reasons all their own.

Trump apparently has taken great pride in going so ruthlessly after anyone who he believes has slighted him. Well, all those chickens are coming home to roost, and they're doing it by getting their revenge on Trump now. But that is a problem entirely of his own making.

Wasn't the narrative always that Trump was the alpha, that he was stronger than everyone else, and that people needed to put on their big boy pants if they wanted to go toe to toe with them? Looks to me like some folks have decided to take him up on that.

As Road Warrior Hawk used to say, don't write checks that your body can't cash.

Yours is a voice of sanity here.

DeSantis has publicly stated he will serve two terms as Governor. He has stated privately to donors he will serve two terms as Governor.

Then when 2026 rolls around he leaves public service and will have plenty of time to build up a war chest to become President.

Personally I think this should have been worked out between Trump and DeSantis long ago.

For a while I thought the “split” were the two of them trolling the press. Now I am not so sure.

And if DJT goes completely unhinged and he is needed it will be more baggage

The election is two years out

No reason for anyone to commit to anything at this point to assuage an ego

Trump is running in '24. Desantis will get crushed if he tries to go against Trump.

You will be voting for Trump in Nov. ‘24.

Get used to the idea.

Where else are you going to go?

Maybe Trump himself feels he is "owed" the 2024 nomination, but I see absolutely zero reasons why elected Republicans should be bound by his feelings. They are, and should be, perfectly free to support whomever they for that nomination.

No one is going toe to toe with Trump. What they have done is destroy every single institution in the country in order to take him down. I have no time for a politician who would support this in search of power. It is not exaggeration. From the DOJ to election apparatus. From the intelligence community to the military. Every institution in the country has been destroyed because Trump called them names and got elected. DeSantis working with those people trying to gain power doesn’t make him a smart politician. It makes him scum

DeSantis is not running in ‘24. He has said he will not run if Trump does. And he is not about to come off his huge victory in Florida and run then anyway.
