The Biden administration has rejected pleas from Ukraine and a bipartisan group of U.S. lawmakers to supply President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's military with advanced drones, The Wall Street Journal reported.
The Defense Department refused the request based on concerns that providing the drones could escalate the war between Ukraine and Russia, WSJ reported Thursday.
Pentagon officials are worried that President Vladimir Putin would see a supply of drones as a sign the U.S. was providing weapons that could target positions inside Russia, officials told the outlet.

Hey Pence, take a flying leap. Jerk!
???
Hey, there’s never a wrong time to say that! LOL
Mikey Pence will never be President.
Always give Ukraine anything they ask for! They are bleeding Russia dry using their own people. We just give money and some old military supplies. We should give them every Abrams tank we have in Europe! Every plane and maybe a carrier or two. The crews to be loaned to Mr. Zelenskyy for the duration or until the final Victory! That should be about January or February.
From doing some digging around, the US decision to not send them was officially because they did not want to cause an ‘escalation’ when the manufacturer of the drones said it was more to do with one of these drones being downed and then the Russians being able to reverse engineer it.
Having the best air defense systems in the world shooting down one of your top bad ass drones being utilized by inept, untrained Ukrainian hands probably would not look good for international sales either.......
Biden is interested in the war continuing, not ending. This has been evident for some time.
A definite possibility.
Agree.
“The decision deprives Ukraine of the kind of advanced weaponry Kyiv has been requesting for months. The Pentagon declined the request based on concerns that providing the Gray Eagle MQ-1C drones could escalate the conflict and signal to Moscow that the U.S. was providing weapons that could target positions inside Russia, U.S. officials and other people familiar with the decision said
U.S. officials, at times, have also worried that the technology aboard the drone could be stolen on the battlefield. But those concerns, that the cameras on board the platform could be stolen if the aircraft were to be shot down, weren’t a central aspect of the decision, officials said.”
