Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said president Biden’s effort to vilify Republicans ahead of this week’s midterm elections appears to have worked.
“I was surprised because I though with inflation, with the crime rate we have seen … I thought all those things would have made for a very big Republican night,” Gingrich said Wednesday morning during an appearance on Fox News. “And I have to say, as much as I think it was despicable, the Biden strategy of demonizing Republicans … I think did have an impact and will become a definition of the democratic party.”

Yeah sure
Cheaters won
BS. The Democrats are stealing elections.
Newt. He’s living in preclintonville.
Hey Newt, if you haven’t realized it yet, Biden is clueless and had no strategy. Theft ruled the night right under your nose!
Newt’s lost it. He sees the statistically impossible happen and says: “Oh I guess the retarded strategy worked”.
The only thing Biden is effective at is soiling his drawers.
It wasn’t demonization, and it wasn’t cheating. It was 18-29 year olds breaking D +28. It was decades of parents too busy watching TV to pay attention to the Communist brainwashing in our schools. It’s over, folks. The country is done. Our new generation is only too happy to vote for brain-dead radical Communists. They’re clearly quite happy with the direction this country is heading. Maybe I’ll retire in Mexico. Perhaps Costa Rica. This ship is sinking like the Titanic. And there is no cavalry coming.
This is why Republicans always get rolled. First, I disagree with Newt, second - even if true, you don’t come out and acknowledge and concede that outrageous methods are what won the election. This only emboldens the perpetrators to continue and engage in more of the same.
The communists have taken power and they will not be giving it back.
Remarkable. No substance. No accountability. The power on controlling the media. Only one message gets out.
I also believe the other factor is that they have an absolute GOTV machine in place now across the country to get every vote. We can debate how much is on the up and up, but they max the use of a month of early voting and mail in to get numbers never seen before. This was essentially 2020 redux. They can get 81M votes counted for a guy who didn’t campaign in 2020 and get a literal vegetable the same numbers in PA Senate as they did in a presidential election.
Abortion trumps everything.
Yeh, these relics don’t know that politics aren’t the same as the 80s and 90s.
We could have the whole country looking like Hiroshima and they would still be crowing about their “rights” to kill children.
Yep. Just shows you the liberals don’t care about the economy, crime, or inflation. Only death. Newt, your time as a commentator who has a meaningful input is gone.
People on our side don’t want to see it.
From a few days ago: “NEWT GINGRICH: I think a tsunami is coming. I think it’s going to be huge. “
“A 60-seat sweep in Congress by the GOP is what Dick Morris expects on Election Day: “
Next election, they will still be making predictions. It’s nice to be optimistic, but being realistic is better. The American public has chosen what the dems have prepared for them. biden will now be able to do whatever he wants to do to us, and no one will stop him. For those who desperately need a bit of hope to hang on to, there’s always 2024!
I will not discount cheating (see my tagline). But I think Newt is wrong here. Biden’s comments were far from being a deciding factor.
Take the Fetterman/Oz Pennsylvania senate race. Fetterman was a complete dud candidate. But Oz wasn’t that much better. Now here’s the thing. Fetterman’s campaign ads were much better than Oz’s. There was really no comparison.
Did those ads make the difference? I can’t be sure. But I’m sure that the ads had more impact than Biden’s babbling.
Interesting point. We always expect the younger generation to vote D, and we expect a large percentage will find other interests instead of voting. Do the data indicate the youth voters turned out in greater numbers than usual? If so, were their votes mail-in and/or early voting?
