Top Republicans including Senators Lindsey Graham and Ted Cruz admitted that the predicted 'red wave' had not materialized as Democrats were victorious in crucial House races and won a Senate seats in Nevada.
'Definitely not a Republican wave, that's for darn sure,' GOP Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina told NBC News just hours after the GOP started the night strong with Ron DeSantis' landslide victory in the Florida Governor race.
And Republican Senator Ted Cruz of Texas said: 'It hasn't been as big of a wave as I'd hoped it would be. We've had some close races go the other way so far.'

No one can top the mainstream Republicans when it comes to stealing defeat from the jaws of victory, but we’re still in position to get majorities in both houses.
The new normal is a republican needs a double digit lead in the polls to win the election.
It’s almost like their was some cheating going on, or something.
Deep State was impeded.
It couldn’t steal them all without tipping its hand and it wouldn’t do that before the presidential. Too risky.
So it stole a few, is trying to convince us elections were honest again, and still has us at each other’s throats.
The number of people around here falling for what Deep State has done disheartens me more that anything Deep State has accomplished.
That was obvious when the machines all malfunctioned simultaneously. But, the chickens will instead blame Trump.
Yep. And McConnell and Romney.
Agreed. People aren’t very bright it seems.
We are a TOTALLY LOST COUNTRY!!! IMMORAL TO THE CORE!
If things shake up like they appear to be, Republicans take the House by about 10 seats and Democrats hold the Senate 50/50. Perhaps that is actually the best of both world for 2024. Biden can't blame everything on a "radical Republican congress" as his party technically controls the Senate. Democrats in the Senate are stuck with two more years of "President Joe Manchin" and even if they did manage to get some of their crazy proposals through the Senate, they would simply never be voted on in the Republican House.
In fact, (really making the lemonade here), there was really not a whole lot to be gained by taking the Senate anyway, with the possible exception of stalling Biden nominees, as he would have simply vetoed any legislation that made it through a Republican House and Senate.
How many Dems got frantic and went to vote after Trump saying the other night that he has a huge announcement to make?
Exactly right, and it unfortunately follows the pattern of never holding Democrats accountable for their misdeeds in the name of sportsmanship. Clinton and company paid no price for their crimes, so we got Obama. He and his cadre were likewise left untouched, so we got the seditious undermining of Trump followed by Biden. Final nail in the coffin was the SCOTUS abdication of their Constitutional duty to hear the Texas 2020 election lawsuit.
You nailed it.
Or, like post #15 just blame Trump. It’s just sad to watch.
Yes I see that as a bright spot. My worry is would a 10 seat House majority be enough to start looking under the hood with our Praetorian FBI under Garland, and Biden’s grifter son. I can imagine 10 Play Nice RINO Republicans refusing to investigate the cesspits at Langley, Fort Meade and the West Wing.
DeSantis turned Florida more red than ever by actually governing as a conservative, TAKING ACTIONS TO ENSURE INTEGRITY (emphasis mine) and leading the nation during the pandemic.
DeSantis (as governor) did what was necessary to ensure election integrity. Other candidates were not in positions to do so.
At the end of the day it doesn’t matter why the US is going down the toilet, whether by vote fraud or an actual shift to socialism.
The solution is the same in either case.
Mail in voting is playing its role.
With mail in voting Every registered Dem voter votes whether they know it or not. The Dems send ballots to them all. If the recipient uses it, the Dems know. If not? The Dems know and simply fill it in on that voter’s behalf and mail it.
It’s that simple.
The GOP’s response?
Call anyone who points out the above a MAGA conspiracy nut.
How about this response instead?
“Hey, as long as those are the rules, we gotta get in on this ourselves.”
...”do not blame McConnell”??? you’re a douch! Mitch openly tanked every Senate hopeful that didn’t kiss his @$$... China Mitch is for Mitch and the DS 100%. And LadyLinsay is his twin!
Trying to make sense of a disappointing night, I come up with this. If you were the RATS, you would give up the House to keep the Senate so you could continue confirming Supreme Court justices and you would find willing accomplices among the Republican leadership starting with McConnell. As a side benefit, you would get rid of Pelosi and install a younger, true believer in her place to take over as Speaker when the next change occurs. Then you would just wait for the long, short, and medium knives to come out on the Republican side.
A party coming up short against the incumbent party amidst high inflation and unprecedented shortages should wipe away its leadership in both houses of Congress, its national party, and other organizational bodies, and start fresh. We all know it’s a fatter chance than Ronna McDaniels’s caboose that any of that will happen.
Lindsey did not help our cause by proposing a federal ban on abortion.
