With fewer than 5K coal mining jobs in PA, I do not think that number makes for a sizeable voting block.

Yeah, all that “OMG coal and fracking jobs will vanish!” stuff is heard here in PA every time around, and it sways pretty much no votes at all. Or sways them to the left: “no coal or fracking? GOOD!”.

Yet the GOP runs stupid meaningless commercials on the topic, thinking more than 0.001% of voters actually give a damn about that, which they don’t. Somebody tell the RNC it’s not 1950 anymore.
