If all of this was born out of true concern and wanting to help humanity they wouldn’t politicize it and they go about this very differently. For example, they would one pushing China a lot harder. They would push to prevent deforestation in South America. They would push for nuclear energy - with an emphasis on making the safest nuclear power plants. They would be making major efforts to lead by example (e.g. Politicians would stay in their districts and meet by Zoom. They would travel by domestic carrier or by train. They would live in smaller energy efficient homes. etc.).
What they wouldn’t do if they were truly sincere is support and/or propagate wars. They wouldn’t buy oceanfront homes. They wouldn’t have big Summits/meetings that everyone has to travel to. They wouldn’t shut down our domestic energy production and buy oil etc. from countries that pollute a lot more during energy production than we do.
AND, they wouldn’t put their ‘sincerity’ in question by owning stock etc. in companies and technology that will benefit greatly by altering energy policy.
