Inland tree damage from tropical storms is bad. Coastal trees are seasoned by constant breezes. Ok, except for my pecan tree. It always sheds at least one 15ft section in a tropical storm.
Much further north than you guys right now, but right at the tidal line. And it will be below freezing tonight on night shift.
Local news said there are three HH planes gathering Nicole data now.

Some pictures that were this afternoon of the pier and ocean. The pier got hammered one too many time. I was there today for Breakfast ( look up Funky pelican restaurant) it’s on the pier on Flagler Beach. At the restaurant this morning there was a piling machine working in the rain.

She should be going over the Gulf Stream tonight and tomorrow. I’m not sure how the “formerly know as sub-tropical” storm will behave.

I just replaced a row of celery and rhubarb (still too hot) with carrots using the corn starch method. Sweet potatoes do well in the sand, so maybe regular taters do too. I’ll get some slips at give it a shot. Thanks for the tip.

I don’t plant veggies in the ground. Between nematodes and other pests, I prefer smaller crops above the ground. Tomatoes and peppers in EarthBoxes. Have a big salad table for lettuce, carrots, radishes. I grow potatoes in cloth bags.
Good point! I’ve got all the batteries charged up. Generator ready. Will do a couple more loads of laundry tomorrow, pick up some bags of ice, and settle in for the storm.
Question why did the all local news (wpbf) stop showing the spaghetti noodles and now only show the cone? What gives? Are they just trying to fear more people? Have they lost confidence in themselves? Inquiring minds...
A couple of the models now have Nicole making landfall essentially where 2004 Frances and Jeanne came ashore—Martin Co./Stuart. Things will change tomorrow.
I’d say it’d be cruel if Nicole made landfall in Port Salerno (where Frances and Jeanne BOTH touched down within 15 days of each other), but I’d take the eye over the north side any day.
