Cruz calls out Trump for not spending on Senate candidates
The Hill ^ | 11/03/2022 | MAX GREENWOOD

Posted on 11/03/2022 7:36:38 AM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) is calling out former President Donald Trump for not spending more of his $100 million war chest to boost Republican Senate candidates ahead of next week’s midterm elections.

In an episode of his podcast, “Verdict with Ted Cruz,” that aired on Monday, Cruz lamented that Trump had spent “almost none” of his massive cash reserves in key Senate races, arguing that it should be up to the former president to provide crucial air cover for candidates whom he has endorsed.

Our enemy is the leftist democrats and the leftist media

You forgot to mention the RNC, McConnell and all of his buddies that love to surround him at every podium, the Chamber of Commerce, RINOs, GOPe, RINO State/local GOP machines that are no better than the GOPe/UNIPARTY in DC.

Trump’s campaign will have so much money it will not know how to spend it at first.

Did he vote to keep McConnell as the Republican Senate Leader?

Apparently, McConnell is only a “liar” when Cruz is running for POTUS.

Why isn't he going after McConnell??? He's the adversary

He did go after McConnell. It is in the 4th and 5th paragraphs of the article. Do you have reading comprehension difficulties or are just plain lazy?

If you read the article, it says

“Cruz also accused Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) of withholding critical political dollars from “pro-Trump” candidates, while funneling money into races where “moderates” and Trump critics are running.”

You mean you expect people to actually read the article before posting their kneejerk reactions? LOL!

Also from the article:

“It would be nice if Trump would spend some of that $100 million to help some of these candidates who Mitch is abandoning because they’re pro-Trump,” Cruz said. “Those are the two pockets of money that are there, and right now neither of them are spending in a number of these states. They’re not.”

Cruz is just expressing a wish that the pro-MAGA candidates had more funding. President Trump can do what he wants with his funds and probably has a strategy of his own which he is entitled to have. This is just The Hill trying to make a big deal out of nothing.

“ Did he call out Mitch McConnell”

Yes, he did. I read the article and he criticized McConnell for not funding pro-Trump nominees. And he criticized Trump for not spending more to help the pro-Trump candidates who McConnell has abandoned

I don’t know the spending details, but Cruz definitely called out McConnell. A more accurate headline should have been , “ Cruz chides McConnell - and Trump - for not aiding pro-Trump candidates more”

It was a dishonest headline. “Cruz calls out both McConnell and Trump on Senate campaign spending” would have been more accurate

Trump is a cash geyser. He should have donated much more, with strings attached, of course. Including not running daft commercials, which don’t move the needle.
