Beware that some of the “MAGA” winners will be flipped by the party machine. Look what happened to a lot of the Tea Party people who got elected. Let that sink in.

Make no mistake, the GOP has a very powerful and effective apparatus whose function is to gain control over newly elected representatives. Its a continuous process that never ends. Its one of the few things the party is consistently “good” at doing.

There will be no changes in leadership. The party is what it is.

There are some political sins for which there can be no absolution.

This might be in that category

Well if they think they can get 2/3rds of the states to ratify an amendment...then they can try.

Good luck with that.

I got a better idea. Why dont the Liberal states move to secede from the union and create their own little utopia?

FTE.

And Minnesotans have too much “Minnesota nice” to allow the arm-twisting that role requires.

The only change I can stomach is the Maine (I think) option. Win a district get a vote. Win the state get two.

Yes, I am fine with how Maine and Nebraska do it (instead of winner take all for electoral votes for each state it's by Congressional district plus two electoral votes for the winner of the state).

It would help stop this crap where they commit fraud in Detroit, Atlanta, Milwaukee etc. and win the whole state's electoral slate with that fraud. They want to pull bags and bags of votes from under the table after kicking out the poll watchers for the night, then the damage is limited since they were going to win that congressional district anyway. It would also force candidates to campaign more widely as they would not write off whole states if there were competitive Congressional districts in those states.

And this is a totally constitutional way of doing this (each state can make the choice), unlike the national popular vote compact that the liberals are pushing which is unconstitutional on its face. Of course the liberals will never approve of this for California, Illinois, New York, New Jersey, etc. where they currently hold a huge advantage.

Maine and iirc Nebraska use an acceptable system constitution wise, and actually would be a move toward more representative voting.

‘Win a district get a vote. Win the state get two. At least red areas in blue states would actually get to “vote” for their candidate.’

i concur ; IF there had to be a change.
This suggestion was, I believe, put forth by Sen. Mundt years ago.

5 Metro areas in the USA would control all elections forward if that happened.

My guess would be that McCarthy will be working hard behind the scenes to elect Emmert.

I hope and pray that doesn’t happen.....

Make no mistake, the GOP has a very powerful and effective apparatus whose function is to gain control over newly elected representatives. Its a continuous process that never ends. Its one of the few things the party is consistently “good” at doing.

I hope the newcomers will eventually see this for what it is and put a stop to it if not now in the very near future.

There will be no changes in leadership. The party is what it is.

And that is a problem that I hope is seen and destroyed like yesterday!!!

Do you think a floor fight in Jan would be in the best interest of the nation?

Of course I don’t but if these lame ducks see the possible blood letting that I hope occurs next week then maybe it will scare some of them enough not to go through the motions of same ‘ol, same ‘ol......I’ve never forgotten the LAME DUCK RYAN that should have been shown the door the minute he announced he wouldn’t seek office again and those idiots sat there with their fingers up their noses (or somewhere else) and kept him!!!! I hope a lesson was learned and the newbies and current Conservatives keep McCarthy’s feet to the fire!!

Newly elected reps quickly learn that money is the life blood of politics. The party machinery controls a lot of money and decides who gets it. It also has other incentives and penalties it can apply to encourage people to get with the program. THEIR program.

The GOP is in no way a conservative party. It just talks that way for self-serving reasons. A genuine conservative party would be pushing relentlessly for smaller government, less spending, lower debt, and more personal freedoms. Such a party would also fight the Dems vigorously on every single issue.

We do not have a party like that at all. The same old tired and weak GOP “leadership” will still be in charge after the election. That tells you all you need to know about the party.

**************

Ryan will be back on the radar soon. He and McCarthy go way back, as I’m sure you know.

McCarthy will be like one of those two person costumed animals that you see in festivals with Paul Ryan and Frank Luntz under the canopy.

I totally agree. I don’t identify with the Republican but have no choice.....I sure won’t vote D or that other party Libertarian.....where Cornrow (Cornyn) is concerned I leave it blank. I hate Establishment Republicans but like I said I hope and pray the MAGA candidates will see through this horse crap on Capitol Hill and give them a run for their money...... Bobert/MTG/Gaetz/Kennedy types can rule the day. BTW, I agree with everything you said....it has to stop somewhere and we might see it in our lifetime. I hope I do cause I’m at the jumping off place in life......lol

That’s what I’m afraid of.......get Trump back! He has work to do and deserves 4 (should be 8) and take back what was stolen! He’s the only one to jerk a know in the tails of some of those jacals....
