Maya Rudolph “did not have a good time” when she appeared on “The Late Show with David Letterman” in 2009.
“He said my name wrong, and I just sat there, like, I grew up my whole life in love with you. And now my heart is broken. And I’m sitting here embarrassed and humiliated,” the “Bridesmaid” star, 50, told WSJ. magazine in an interview published Friday.
“I didn’t know how to handle it,” she continued. “I didn’t know how to come up with something funny to say. My public persona muscle wasn’t strong yet.”

If I had a show, I personally, would make sure I pronounced everybody’s name right. I hate mispronouncing anything, but especially names. It makes Letterman look bad to me.
So many Freepers said that movie was good, I finally made a point to watch it. It was an unfunny, leftist trash heap.

WOW! How humiliating! Someone mispronounced her name. I hope she gets therapy for the trauma. Clearly she is still experiencing PTSD. That is one of the most devastating things that can happen to a person. My heart goes out to her. Maybe we should have a telethon to raise money for her and all the victims in our world who have had their names mispronounced.
