A source in the Heavy article said, "He (David DePape) would appear to be a former Castro nudist protester." The Castro District is heavily homosexual. San Francisco homosexual men routinely parade naked. San Francisco heterosexual men do not.

Also, security around the Pelosi house is probably excellent.

Yes! That doesn't mean it's what happened, but it's a reasonable guess.
But maybe newbies. Maybe it was new security people that called the police, out of inexperience on how to deal with Pelosi family shenanigans. Maybe the Pelosi's just switched their security service to the Capitol Police - it was announced in August that the (DC) Capitol Police would open an office in SF.
Dems are always trying to get a free ride. So the Pelosi's may now have tax-paid government security, security workers doing their best of course!
