I think it’s terrible they are destroying priceless works of art. I wouldn’t want them to do this to the work of an artist I hated.

My grandfather could paint like that. Very few of his paintings were original though. He could take that painting and paint one that looked just like it.

I completely agree with you. Speaking as a painter myself, Vermeer is one of our most important artists for myriad reasons. There are so very few paintings by him.
This one…a stunning beauty indeed.
