Nearly half of all vote-by-mail ballots in Pennsylvania had already been cast before Tuesday night’s U.S. Senate debate, which was judged a disaster — even by Democrats — after Lt. Gov. John Fetterman (D), recovering from a stroke, struggled to form coherent sentences.
Fetterman had sought to avoid a debate, and his campaign has restricted his public appearances.. When he finally agreed to one, Democrats sought to delay the debate until ballots were already being cast by mail, since Democrats are more likely to use that method and more of the party’s vote would already be cast.
However, given that 82% of viewers said that Republican nominee Dr. Mehmet Oz won the debate, it is likely that some of those Democratic would make a different choice today

The debate was scheduled for some time before it happened last evening. Those that already did mail-ins fall into two categories:
1. Were not aware that a debate was even a possibility, and would have not watched it any case.
2. Were aware that a debate was coming up, and not planning to watch and absorb it, voted mail-in anyway.
In short, the debate made little to no-difference to the mail-ins.
The devious evil dirty rats play to kill and destroy while our spineless PIECES OF DUNG always fold and play like cheap cards! McDaniel, McCarthy, McConnell etc NEED TO EFFIN GO!!!!
Mail in voting definitely needs to stop but those Democrats were going to vote for Fetterman just the same.
Sympathy vote getter. Dr Oz should be ashamed picking on the disabled. /S
Keeps the door open for mrs. festerman to be appointed once the votes are tallied if need be. Hard to imagine there are 81 million voters that want this fidiot installed. We voted in person on Monday despite having rec’d mail in ballots as the “preferred” method in NevaDUH. We both signed saying we would destroy our mail ins. They would have preferred to have us turn them in at the polling location. Uh, NOPE!
“This race is so close all it takes is 1% of the people who were intent on voting for Fetterman to change their votes to Oz. That’s a 2 point swing.”
Or: all it takes is 1% of the people who were intent on voting for Oz to change their votes to Fetterman.
If anyone thinks that nobody in their right mind would switch TO Fetterman after last night’s debate:
1. They are right, but....
2. We aren’t talking about people in their right mind. We are talking about Democrat or “independent” voters, who are ignorant and who are easily emotionally influenced. The media will be all-in 24/7 from this point on pushing sympathy — and VOTES — towards the brain-deal drooler and AWAY from Oz.
Indie voter: “Can’t you see how courageous Fetterman was to stand up there yesterday with the deck stacked so heavily against him? Can’t people see what horrible bullies Oz and the debate moderator were? I was thinking of voting for Oz, but now I’M WITH FETTERMAN!!!!”
Here again is why early voting is wrong. Short of those few instances when a voter can not be present to vote on election day and needs to vote absentee, early voting should be banned.
That’s exactly why Fetterman agreed to a debate this late in the race, the dems knew that most of their voters including dead people will have voted before the debate.
They don’t want you to know who you are voting for, and haven’t for a long time.
Now, with POTATUS and the cloaked cabal hiding behind him, they don’t even want you to know who “won”.
Persons with a handicap sticker should vote by mail. Everyone else? Show up with real ID and proof of citizenship, vote and STFU.
or 2% who were going to, not voting at all.
Seems the Dems made suckers out of the lazy mail voters if they voted for Fetterman. Stop mail in voting and go to paper ID ballots.
Most of them? No.
The race may not end up being this close, but in a race that is close, even if only 1% would have changed their minds, that is all that could have made a difference.
Yeah, right. Sure, they were.
NOT!
It’s their cheat cover attempt.
Doesn’t matter. Stupidity isn’t affected by debate and anyone who would consider voting for an idiot is an idiot.
Election Day needs to be one day. No early voting. No mail-in ballots. Absentee only with ID and affidavit signed in person at the county elections office. Purple ink for fingers and ID check. No same-day registration. If you can’t plan ahead enough to get this done, then it isn’t important enough to you.
yep, same thing. But hopefully people get a head check here and realize he’s not the best fit for a team of 100 with 240 million options.
Exactly. I really don’t think debates these days do much if anything to move the needle.
I also don’t believe there are any “undecided” voters at this point in the campaign, —only voters who would rather not tell a pollster who they plan on voting for.
This is why its so important that Doug Mastriano win the governor’s race. With him in the governor’s mansion, Pennsylvania could pass real election integrity laws - such as massively curtailing voting by mail limiting it to those who can show a need eg disabled people who can’t make it in, people who will be required to be out of state and far away on election day for their jobs, etc.
I watched the entire debate (although I thought I might have tuned in late when Fetterman began his opening statement by saying "goodnight.") I don't see any way he could have won over undecided and independent voters who watched that train wreck.
Nothing will ever convince committed Leftists. But if just a few percent of the wishy washy middle can be picked off, that is enough to decide most elections....at least in states that are relatively purple like Pennsylvania.
