It's not just that. They don't want a winner announced on election night, which would put pressure on Hobbs to concede right away.
A hand count of every race on every ballot would take at least a week to complete, which would keep Lake from declaring victory and give the Democrats time to figure out a steal.
Once a hand count disagrees with the machine count, Hobbs can go to court and delay the certification for at least a month at that point.

How does one reconcile the fact that a Sec of State running for governor gets to count the votes and certify the winner in the race she is running? Seems to me the Republican legislature needs to pass an emergency bill that.in such cases, the Sec of State is precluded from counting the votes and certifying the victor. Such duties are to be transferred to the AG’s office for that race.
She knows the hand count will reveal that the machines are cheating.
This used to be called checks and balance. Later it was called transparency.

It happens on election night, not weeks later.
It’s a small county of 126,000 residents, not a behemoth like Maricopa, so they can do the -+30,000 votes in a flash.
If they find significant discrepancy, they can recount and report in less than 72 hrs. And they can note if the discrepancy leans in favor of one of the candidates.
Let’s see candidate Hobbs challenge the results.

I am in Ca. I received my 3rd mail n ballot this morning, AND my deceased mother who I REMOVED from the voter rolls has received 2 so far!! Something MUST BE DONE about elections in this country!!!

You are exactly right. The big fear is that if the Dems know a hand count starts right away, they will not be able to “adjudicate” ballots and create fakes to fill their quotas.
Dems want the hand counts to be after they have stuffed and fixed. The non-Dem Cochise Supervisors obviously expect cheating. They should sue to forbid any counting, adjudication, and ballot fixing by unsupervised election officials unless at least 3 independent observers are present, involved, able to see the materials close up, etc.
I can remember when:
Voting was done in one day ONLY...
People went in person to precinct locations to vote...
allots ere ALL paper....
Ballots were counted by hand.....
Results were done by next AM.
Not only that but SecState specifically is in charge of elections, so its a conflict if interest.

The voters of South Carolina must think there’s value in keeping him. That can change, just like the voters changed their minds in August to fire GOPe Princess Jaime Herrera Beutler and will be replacing her with America First Candidate Joe Kent in a little over 2 weeks.
What happens to the staff that ran Beutler’s office and was there before Beutler was elected as a 31 year old in 2010? Hopefully Joe Kent will fire each and everyone of them down to the janitors.

Who trains incoming freshmen elected officials? Staff/Swamp that’s who. The seminars and meetings that the Swamp requires the freshman officials to attend are a form of indoctrination.
As it stands, the minute the reform minded citizen gets elected, regardless of position, the Swampy Long-knives start loping off genitalia.
