President Joe Biden currently holds a mere 36% approval rating on immigration.
House Republicans have demanded that the Department of Homeland Security release the September and Fiscal Year 2022 figures on migrant encounters at the southern border.
Republican Reps. Jim Jordan, Ohio, and Tom McClintock, Calif., in a letter to DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and CBP Commissioner Chris Magnus, highlighted estimates that put the total encounters in the millions. CBP announced in September that the number of illegal migrant encounters had surpassed 2 million for the first time in a single fiscal year.
"We write to ask why you have not yet published the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data about illegal alien encounters on the southwest border for September 2022 and the entire Fiscal Year 2022," the pair wrote.
"We understand that the Biden Administration may hope to keep the official number of illegal alien encounters along the southwest border a secret from the American public for as long as possible for obvious political reasons," they continued. "However, the American people deserve transparency, not political games."
The Republicans went on to address the previous administration's routine presentation of that information to members of Congress and contrast it with the Biden's less frequent updates.
"During the Trump Administration, CBP released border apprehension statistics to Members of Congress on a weekly basis," they said. "The Biden CBP has been providing border apprehension data to Congress on a monthly basis."
"As of today, however, the Biden Administration has not released its September 2022 data. This delay is unacceptable," the pair asserted.
The United States has been wrestling with an unprecedented surge in illegal migration amid the Biden administration's permission immigration and border enforcement policies. Mayorkas has particularly drawn criticism for what some Republicans have termed "gross dereliction of duty." Many more have openly mulled impeaching him.

I wouldn’t put any stock in RAT “border numbers”. I saw a jerk on the local news last night schooling us on “immigration”. He reported that the vast majority of the “11 million” (Est. 1970) “undocumented immigrants” live in blue states, not red states. Hell, Texas alone has 11 million illegals. The jerk even had a cool little white chart that showed all 50 states with the red ones colored red and the blue states colored blue. The presentation was straight out of the Head Start curriculum coloring book.
They can’t count that high.

We taxpayers are funding daycare for illegals (headstart) as well as language immersion (ESL in grammar schools).
The number of latino faces/voices I see/hear when I visit local schools & headstart for business is rather alarming, but no surprise.
The ‘claim’ is that the 87,000 irs agents are to enforce tax code upon small operators in the US (gig workers, small corporations & LLCs, etc.); I can’t help but wonder if that includes those ‘businesses’ with latino names on the paperwork.
I’ve witnessed the past couple years a dramatic increase in the number of spanish-speakers in the home improvement stores purchasing supplies and loading them into vehicles I certainly can’t afford, as well as spanish speaking women making the rounds of various grocery stores.

Let’s do some calculations:
In the late 60’s—early 70’s—the accepted number of illegals in the USA was 20+ million with the majority in the border states.
Then, they started to really fan out all across the country.
Their birth rate is FAR higher than American taxpayers. I remember Los Angeles County General Hospital had 100% births with all mothers invaders. The La County taxpayers supported that hospital.
Sometime later, the high praised Trauma Unit at Northridge Hospital (5 blocks from my house) had to close their Trauma Unit because it was overflowing with injured/dead illegal invaders with their gang activities & lack of ability to be civil.
After I bailed out of that house—no longer felt SAFE-—the entire hospital was shut down due to non-paying patients.
The growth of illegal INVADERS has only gone UP & UP & UP in those years.
Very few self-deported back to south of the border.
MS-13 became a household name.
Large swaths of cities became NO GO ZONES for anything other than Hispanics-—THEY RULED.
OBAMA actually put up billboards at the southern border WELCOMING illegals to enter our country.
Over 50% of jail inmates are illegals.
More than 50% of prison inmates are illegals.
All their criminal activity required TRANSLATORS in EVERY COURTROOM.
COVID hit & states & cities EMPTIED their cells & turned criminals loose-—with no tracking or rules.
THEN-—Trump tried to build a WALL-—and the Dems fought it at every turn. Dems claimed that Rep’s wanted those illegals for cheap labor.
WHY? They do NOT speak/read/write English & cannot interact well with Americans. I would NEVER hire such a person-—what use is he or she to me in MY business??? Government says I HAVE TO SPEAK THEIR LANGUAGE-—GOOD LUCK WITH THAT.
Their children flooded the schools & the poor teaching already underway here got bogged down further-—while schools tried to hire ESL teachers-—English Second Language.
Disruptive behavior was everywhere.
Meanwhile, crime has gone thru the roof in every nook & cranny of the country-—Many areas are now very high in Hispanic populations-—in places you would never expect.
Demographics show higher Hispanic population in Des Moines than whites-—
They are being given driver’s licenses—along with Voter registration—which is mandatory for DMV employees. They cannot read English & are allowed a ‘helper’ to get that license-—but WHERE is that translator when that ‘driver’ is out on the road with you & me? Take a good look at your own vehicle insurance & see how much your “UNINSURED MOTORIST” coverage is costing you-because they have flooded the roads & are NOT insured.
I contend that since the early 70’s the number of illegals in the USA is much closer to 65 MILLION ++++ and now we also have a very large number of military age men without families coming in by the caravan full.
The “caravans” we were told WALKED 2000 miles were a complete con job. Their ‘shoes’ were NOT worn out & those who were obviously OVERWEIGHT hadn’t lost weight. Where did they sleep??? Where did they use bathroom facilities? Who FED THEM??? WHO MEDICATED THEM??? They entered this country without ANY medical exams, etc. They were given ‘Notices To Appear On Court” in the USA-—36 months out under Biden & now, word is leaking out that Biden is cancelling those notices.
We are being over run with persons who will continue to cost us outrageous amounts of $$$$$$$. They are shopping with Credit Cards in stores NORTH of the border-—WHERE DID THOSE COME FROM???
These people need to clean up their own countries-—NOT become a burden to this country....
