I’ve lived in Brazil - the only people in my high rise (no expats - all white collar Brazilians) darker than me were my Afro-Brazilian first wife and the hired help.

Latin Americans talk about social class divides all the time but ignore the racial divide (obvious to an outsider) whereas people in the US talk about the racial divide all the time but claim there is no social class divide (also obvious to an outsider).
