Russian troops shot and killed an orchestra conductor who refused to perform at a concert Russia allegedly staged in the occupied southern region of Kherson, according to Ukrainian officials.

The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine said in a Facebook post that it confirmed Friday that Russian soldiers shot Yuri Kerpatenko in his own home.

Kerpatenko, the main conductor of the Gileya Chamber Orchestra, refused a Russian invitation to perform a concert with the orchestra group “to demonstrate the so-called ‘improvement of peaceful life’ in Kherson,” according to the ministry.

The late conductor was also affiliated with the Kherson Regional Philharmonic and the Mykola Kulish Kherson Music and Drama Theater in the region.

Ukrainian journalist Olena Vanina first reported the news on Thursday and was cited by the cultural ministry.

The war in Ukraine has dragged on for more than eight months and has killed thousands of Ukrainian civilians and thousands of soldiers on both sides.

Fighting continues to rage in eastern and southern region of the country, including in and around Kherson.

"Conductors don’t do anything anyways, they just stand up there waving their arms around..."

I got it that you're joking, but what exactly does the conductor do up there? He/she is mostly just giving cues based on rehearsals with the orchestra where everything has already been worked out. Once the musicians understand what is wanted, the conductor can conduct as much, if not more, with his stare and facial expression during the performance.

https://sonar21.com/what-is-russia-planning-to-do-next/

While Russia is beefing up its forces in Belarus, the Supreme Russian Commander for military operations in Ukraine, General Surovikin, made the following comment in recent days:

I don’t want to sacrifice the lives of the Russian soldiers in a partisan war of hoards of fanatics armed by NATO.

We’ve got enough power and technical means to lead Ukraine to total capitulation.

https://t.me/UkraineHumanRightsAbuses/11836

In other words, the General, knowing the capability of the forces under his command and knowing the missions he and his staff are planning for them, is confident he has the means to force the surrender of Ukraine. No mention of negotiations. The word, “capitulation” is not ambiguous in its meaning.

There is another possibility to entertain–this is an elaborate feint by Russia designed to force Ukraine to deploy already weakened forces to the northern border to defend against a possible invasion from the north. This will make it difficult, if not impossible, for Ukraine to send reinforcements to the south in a timely manner if Russia decides to launch an offensive to clear out the Donetsk Republic or attack Nikolayev.

no wikipedia is not an honest source for political info.
so , yahoo writes an article about a facebook post and u think this propaganda is newsworthy? LOL - u can find better propaganda than this.. hey it’s another bad day for little homo Z-ski..............
.

The terrorist attack on crimea bridge was stupid and suicidal.
kiev was lit up again today.
.
Russian drones still face no obstacles flying over the capital of Ukraine. Ukrainian forces only managed to illuminate them with spotlights and attempted to shot them with guns. Meanwhile, civilians who have been deliberately provided with guns since the very beginning of the Russian military operations in Ukraine also attempt to help the military to intercept the UAVs, firing them from their balconies. indiscriminate shooting causes more harm to the civilian population than precision strikes by Russian drones
.
At least one of the UAVs hit the building of Ukrenergo in Kiev. This is the center of coordination of the work of power grids throughout the country. Another target was hit near the railway station in Kiev. Another strike was recorded in the area of the power plant of the Kiev Arsenal plant. According to the local reports, the heat supply station No. 1 of Kievenergo located near the 101 Tower office center, and the CHP No .2 near Rybalsky Island could also be targeted.

The main blows in Kiev were again inflicted on electrical substations with a voltage of 35 to 110 kV, supplying energy to industrial enterprises. Russian kamikaze drones disable industrial facilities that are directly or indirectly involved in providing the needs of the Ukrainian army and are legitimate military targets. Powerful generating power facilities in the Kiev region were not hit.

“ This is what the real Nazis would do back then. Perform for us, amuse us, or die.”

It’s also what Russians have done in their past.
Yes likely some Ukrainian propaganda is coming through in some stories, but many stories of Russian atrocities are fitting a pattern.

… according to Ukrainian officials.

It may have happened (which is ugly if it did.)

Or it may not have happened.

That’s been the trouble with this thing from the beginning. We don’t really know.
