To: Tell It Right

My vision of Gates has done a 180 over the last few years.

I viewed him as a guy that happened to be the person who
organized and developed a large successful organization.

Didn’t see him as particularly a big brain trust, but he
did organize and come up with a very large corporation
that made him and a lot of other people wealthy. That’s
admirable.

There are a number of people out there like that. They
get a lot of favorable press, but may not be quite as
deserving of it as people might think.

I didn’t like the guy. I didn’t dislike the guy. He
was out there and I was aware of him. He didn’t matter
to me.

Jump to the last few years, and this prick has inserted
himself in to a project way way way way way over his head.

He got himself some money, and that made him think he was
the smartest man to save humanity.

Today he matters to me. I think he is a misguided danger
to the global populace, particularly the Western nations.

He needs to knock off what he has been involved in, and
go back to something he knows something about that won’t
impact nearly 8 billion humans negatively, perhaps
fatally.

As a Generation X programmer who first coded in BASIC before I was old enough to drive, there's part of me that will always appreciate him heavily improving on and promoting the BASIC programming language in the 1980's to make it easy for us kids then to get into coding even before the internet. It's a reason I'm a software engineer today.

But he has a dangerous messiah complex. Almost to a Bond-villain level. Did he know he's thinking of a plan to "save" us from global warming by darkening the skies? That's insane!
