Ukraine’s Kyiv area hit by Iranian-made kamikaze drones
The Washington Times ^ | October 13, 2022

Ukraine’s capital region was struck by Iranian-made kamikaze drones early Thursday, officials said, sending rescue workers rushing to the scene as residents awoke to air raid sirens for the fourth consecutive morning following Russia’s major assault across the country earlier this week.

Kyiv regional governor Oleksiy Kuleba said the strike occurred in the area around the capital. It wasn’t yet clear if there were any casualties.

Deputy head of the presidential office Kyrylo Tymoshenko said on Telegram that “critical infrastructure facilities” in the area were hit, without offering any details on which ones.

Ukraine was merely responding to ARMED RUSSIAN SEPARATISTS, supplied with heavy weapons and funded by Russia, attacking Ukraine from within

One could say the same thing about the American revolutionaries. They were separatists funded and encouraged in part by France.

...except for all the “nazi collaborators” who were shipped over to the U.S. to run its missile and high energy weapons development following the war.

"Not an inch of NATO's present military jurisdiction will spread in an eastern direction." James Baker\

You can't possibly be that ignorant, so it has to be a deliberate misrepresentation, a lie.

Gorbachev, the President of the Soviet Union at the time said there was no promise not to enlarge NATO eastward past Germany. Former Soviet Foreign Minister, Eduard Shevardnadze also agreed, there was no limit on NATO enlargement.

No expansion of NATO eastward only covered East Germany. That's why there is a treaty-Treaty on the Final Settlement with Respect to Germany, which states NATO troops would not be stationed in former East Germany.

Gorbachev, the head of the Soviet Union confirmed this in later interviews, that there was no promise, since NATO expansion past Germany was never brought up in discussions.

The topic of “NATO expansion” was not discussed at all, and it wasn’t brought up in those years. I say this with full responsibility. Not a singe Eastern European country raised the issue, not even after the Warsaw Pact ceased to exist in 1991. Western leaders didn’t bring it up, either. Another issue we brought up was discussed: making sure that NATO’s military structures would not advance and that additional armed forces from the alliance would not be deployed on the territory of the then-GDR after German reunification. Baker’s statement, mentioned in your question, was made in that context. Kohl and [German Vice Chancellor Hans-Dietrich] Genscher talked about it.

It’s also hilarious the people cheering the depletion of our own stockpiles for a comedian within a corrupt country.

I would love to live in your fantasy land.

The USA is at war with zero nations and that has been the case since ‘45. Does that mean we have had no enemies in 70 years?

200,000 dead Iraqi civilians beg to differ with you.

Serbians might have a quibble or two with you as well.

But our bombs are holy bombs, because our motives were pure, so civilians killed and maimed by them don't matter, right?

Oh, so now I’m a Nazi collaborator, and you are threatening to execute me?

I’m still waiting for you to post that link to where Congress declared war on Russia.

You mess with America and America messes with you.

We run the world and have since 1945, and it is our job to discipline anyone who gets out of line.

Like school children many of the nations resent such discipline, but the smart ones know that it is good for them.

Or in the words of our greatest poet:

“Brought to you courtesy of the red white and blue
Justice will be served and the battle will rage
This big dog will fight when you rattle his cage
And you’ll be sorry that you messed with The U.S. of A.
‘Cause we’ll put a boot in your ass
It’s the American way”

actually, the US Congress did pass a war resolution against Iraq in 2003 (which Hillary and Lurch voted for)

but that's the only one I can think of ... even Korea was a "UN police action"

It’s amusing that a global superpower like Russia relies on Iranian made tech that only goes one way.

Hasn’t that been the slogan of every useful idiot since 1945?

Do you agree with the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament: “if no alternatives remain except Communist domination or extinction of the human race, the former alternative is the lesser of two evils”

Would you like to live in a world where in the 1950s the west had embraced your ideas and surrendered themselves to the Soviets?

Laying everything to waste eventually “works” if you have the resources to do it. But, that’s a big “if”.

In the case of WW2, Hitler diverted the Luftwaffe from taking out the RAF airbases (and keeping them out), to bombing Brit cities. He didn’t have the planes to do both, and in fact didn’t even have the ability to rubble all the Brit cities (partially because the RAF could now attrit German bombers effectively).

Eventually the Allied effort did wear down the Germans, but it was a long and ugly and massive process. Hitler, however, had set the bar for excess: My take is that for the most part, the Allies did what was necessary.

In THIS case, the Ukies have set no such bar. They (apparently) hit a bridge that is a clear and critical military logistics asset, and did it in a way and at a time of minimal civilian presence. Russia responded by showering Ukie cities wantonly at rush hour. They even managed to hit the (fortunately empty for them) German Consulate in Kyiv.

If that last was a one off, even the Germans might let it pass with only a squawk. But as it is, they immediately sent missile defense systems.

Russia has compounded its error because it is convincing Ukraine’s allies to send more military equipment. Given time, those resources can become effectively unlimited. (Another parallel with Britain and WW2.) As time went on, Germany had no such allies... Russia “could”, with China, but I see no sign China is willing to effectively arm up Russia.

Correct.

Even in Iraq, we were not fighting the Iraqi gov’t for long.

However, I can’t go so far as to say a war is not a war unless it has been declared by Congress. That would put me in the same category as Pooty with his “non-war” in Ukraine!

Collaborators tend to get what's coming to them. Go watch Red Dawn.

Are you accusing FR posters who dispute your narrative "collaborators" who deserve punishment? How far are you willing to go?

Collaborators should be brought to justice, they're traitors
every country did that after WWII, that's normal
