Republicans want a national abortion ban.

Not me. The constitution says nothing about abortion, so it is a state issue.

The constitution says nothing about abortion,

Does it happen to say anything about life?

It is a civil rights issue, and therefore federal.

I can respect your position, but see it differently.

The Declaration of Independence lists a number of our inalienable rights; primary among these rights is the right to life.

So inalienable is that right that our founding fathers included the fourth, fifth, and sixth amendments specifically in the Bill of Rights so that future generations would not be exterminated by the government on a whim.

Further, the 9th and 10th amendments make clear that any other rights are reserved by We, the People.

Modern science has made crystal clear what the Bible knew all along. The child is a separate person. After several weeks of gestation it will know and feel the pain of its death.

The Constitution was designed to protect the innocent from abuse and to enable all individuals to live free. Abortion is the antithesis of that.

Nowhere else in civilized law is it permissible (or, more grotesquely, celebrated and encouraged) to kill an innocent person because you made a mistake.
