This is the beginning of a legal (unfortunately) transition of personnel at the POTUS and VPOTUS positions. This ‘incident’ is Kamal-Ho’s first warning (resign or die).
1) Kamal-Ho resigns to seek other opportunities.
2) Xiden appoints a new VPOTUS, probably Newsom.
3) Xiden resigns, Newsom advances to POTUS.
4) Skiping over Pelousy, Newsom appoints some other commie fanatic to VPOTUS.
Viola! the left now has younger blood in power without any loss of ideology.
Just remember, POTUS can nominate a Vice-President, but both chamberpots must approve.
