You are absolutely right and I have no idea how this will turn out either.

The morning of 4 October:

Later that same day...

Another day, another Russian defeat/retreat/goodwill gesture/regrouping/smoking accident of some sort.

The Ukrainian Army has successfully advanced and routed Russian forces in several areas officially claimed for annexation by Putin.

I believe we took out the pipeline to make impossible the EU to reengage with Putin..Pipelines always hard-wire countries to each other......And that is Biden's/Obama and the global agenda - to sever those ties to the EU.... Starve the EU for oil and force them to attack ultimately Russia via Nato in a full thrust - thus topple Putin and grab to control all the Russian oil and resources.

It's a mighty endeavor but if they corner Putin enough to dare him to strike even a little with Nuclear all bets are off and they'll go at him in full. his is Washingtons dream and Ukraines. Thus why we saw Ukraines attacks on the Nuclear facility - to incite an International crisis thus justifying Nato’s full involvement. It didn't work.

We're using Ukraine for all the dirty work that would never be tolerated if we were actually doing it ourselves. And Ukraines leadership is so hungry for Nato membership and to rid Russia of being influential in their governance they will let every Ukrainian die there to get it.

Shameful the US is playing such dirty business in full view of everyone. However considering who is running the show not surprising. And this administration will drain every cent out of our pockets to get to their goals.....”At any cost”.

Looks like the Russian Army has gone back to the Tsarist era.

"what surprises me is... why hasn’t Putin attacked further into Ukraine? why not level the capital? Attack military training facilities, take out power plants etc?"

The Russians were hitting all of the civilian targets they could all across Ukraine, but they ran low on missiles with enough range for it. They were forced to move their ships further away. They don't send many aircraft into Ukraine, either, because so many of them were shot down by antiaircraft systems.

It’s no joke I heard him say that when being interviewed.

Such hyperbole. Did the Russians imprison your family in Siberia or something? That much anger towards an entire group of ppl is definitely not healthy.

There will always be open conflict in Ukraine.....keeps them from being in Nato....and Nato/EU itself doesn't want them unless they can run the country entirely.... Zelensky would be happy to hand over those reins to run Ukraines goveernment just as he has the Military to Nato, just not officially....and then he'll retreat to his Island vacation home or villa. However Russia will not let Ukraine become a bulkhead for Nuclear Bombs against Russia.....he'll hit first - you can believe that.

“advancing and holding are two entirely different scenarios.”

Russia really found that out the hard way.

Five weeks into the invasion was the the peak amount of territory in Ukraine that Russia occupied, and their losses are speeding up now, in both the North (Svatove) and the South (Kherson).

Huge loss of Russian life and materiel.

Russian soldiers have reportedly posted an update from the Kherson region of Ukraine: “We aren’t just moving back. We are retreating, I can’t even find a word for it. This is an escape… There is nowhere to run. Antonovsky bridge is completely destroyed.”

With the Antonovsky bridge in the state it is in and limited water crossing capacity, we could be looking at a mass surrender or worse in Kherson. Russia, already shocked by the mounting losses, could have to confront an unprecedented type of loss in this war so far.

So you support the continuation of this war using the American military as “advisors,” AKA soldiers? Because then it’s a proxy war, with all the consequences that come with it, including possibly WWIII, which the American ppl never signed up for.

The Ukrainians have antiaircraft systems from quite a few different countries including ours. Russian aircraft weren’t all that the Russians cracked them up to be in false advertising. They’re much like the Iranians in that way. Same with their many false claims over the years about shortcomings in our aircraft. Their propaganda shouldn’t be trusted. Same with their nuclear forces: junk.

“Huge loss of Russian life and materiel.”

I read that what Ukraine has captured recently from the retreating Russians, is greater than all the allied material sent. I saw photos of so many artillery shells left behind.

“There is nowhere to run.”

Berislav/Nova Khakova is the shortest swim by far, of any point along the River. They could run ropes across the lock in the dam for foot soldiers to get across, but the vehicles would need ferries, and most would likely not make it.
